Nintendo fans have been known to mod theNintendo Switch to add on GameCube controllersor to make the console more reminiscent of the N64. This time, however, the modder has decided to give their actual light switch a Nintendo makeover.
In 2017,The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildwas released to Wii U and Switch, and for many people was an extra factor in deciding to buy a Switch.Breath of the Wildsaw Link using the Sheikah Slate, a tablet-like device reminiscent of both the Wii U game pad and the Switch itself. Reddit user andBreath of the Wildfan, Psdwizzard, took great inspiration from Link’s useful gadget for their light switch cover mod. While not an exact replica of the Sheikah Slate, the cover looks fittingly aged and textured, matching some of the aging technology inBreath of the Wild. For many players, not much is known about the SheikahinBreath of the Wild, but with some research and paying attention to the in-game lore, there is much to learn. One key thing about the ninja inspired clan is that they also developed all the ancient technology inBreath of the Wild.
This means that inthis version of Hyrule, if anyone were to make a light switch, it would certainly be the Sheikah, perhaps matching Psdwizzard’s design. Fellow fans asked how Psdwizzard made the light switch casing, who revealed that they had designed it in Blender before they 3D printed it and then painted it. One commenter posted to say that it would be even cooler with a glow in the dark effect, while another asked if Psdwizzard was planning on sharing the STL file for others to print a copy.
