XDefiantprovides a selection of weapons and devices for players to pick from and utilize during the match. However, not all weapons in the game are unlocked by default for the players. To unlock each weapon or device, players mustcomplete base challengesassociated with that weapon.
Many players may struggle with one of the challenges: inflicting status conditions on enemies or killing enemies suffering from status conditions. These challenges must be completed to unlock the Sticky Grenade and Flashbang Grenade in the game.
How to Inflict and Kill with Status Condition
You can inflict status conditions on your enemies or kill an enemy suffering from status conditions in two different ways.
Use Cleaners Faction
Using theCleaners factionis the quickest way to inflict status conditions on your enemies. This faction’s abilities includeIncinerator DronesandFirebombs, and its passive ability isIncendiary Rounds.
The Cleaners faction’s skills mostly include setting opponents on fire. For example, the Incinerator Drone employs a napalm-delivering drone that burns enemies on its route before exploding and killing them. This searing effect will contribute to inflicting status conditions on enemies, and since it is an active ability, you can use it numerous times during a match to fulfill the objective.
Similarly, the Firebomb detonates a Molotov cocktail, dealing explosive AoE damage to enemies and setting the area on fire. Any opponents who enter the area after the Molotov will be burned. Once your opponent is on fire, you must shoot them withyour weaponto complete the kill and add to the challenge.
However, the quickest way to complete this challenge is to use the Cleaners faction’s passive ability,Incendiary Rounds. This ability inflicts additional burning damage on opponents when they are hit by your bullets. Thus, every time you shoot an opponent, you inflict a status condition on them, and killing them with additional shots allows you to kill enemies suffering from the status condition.
Use EMP Grenade
EMP Grenades are another simple technique to inflict status conditions on enemies. The EMP Grenade may be unlocked by doing 400 damage to enemy equipment using devices. Once you’ve obtained the EMP Grenade, equip it with theloadout you’re usingin the match and use it to deactivate opponent abilities and devices.
When an opponent is affected by an EMP grenade, an electric symbol appears on your screen, signifying that you have inflicted a status condition on them. After that, you must end the disoriented enemy, which will count as killing an enemy with a status condition.
