Summary

Wrestling fans can now hit the ring as Bad Bunny thanks to a newWWE 2K23DLC playable character based on the Puerto Rican rapper’s appearance at this year’sBacklashevent. Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio has made his love of professional wrestling quite clear, even writing and performing a song in honor of WWE legend Booker T. Said song was included inthe soundtrack to last year’sWWE 2K22, which was released a good year after Bad Bunny himself stepped into the squared circle atWrestlemania 37,where he partnered with Damien Priest against The Miz and John Morrison.

While celebrity appearances in WWE tend to be hit-or-miss, Bad Bunny surprised fans with his impressive level of skill in the squared circle, and clips of his moves went viral almost immediately following his initial match. He would make many other appearances in WWE programming over the past couple of years, eventually joining forces withWWE 2K22cover star Rey Mysterioagainst the villainous Judgment Day faction. This would culminate in a San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny and his former partner Damien Priest atBacklash 2023, which Bunny won with the help of the recently formed Latino World Order faction.

Bad Bunny was already playable inWWE 2K23as a pre-order bonus, and now fans can get a special version of the rapper-turned-wrestler modeled after his appearance atBacklash 2023. This new Bad Bunny DLC character is available as part of theWWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Editionthat launches today for $139.99, as well as a standalone Bad Bunny Superstar Packfor just $9.99. Both these content packages were announced in a press release on the 2K website, and WWE Chief Content Officer and former in-ring performer Triple H shared the news on his official Twitter account.

ThislatestWWE 2K23DLC updatecontains a new playable version of Bad Bunny dressed in the attire he wore atBacklash 2023, including a pair of Adidas Men’s Tech Fall 2.0 Wrestling Shoes. Last year’sWWE 2K22served as a renovation for2K’s series ofWWEvideo games, andWWE 2K23built upon its success with its John Cena-centric WWE 2K Showcase Mode and playable War Games match. Even after its release in March, developer Visual Concepts continues to add toWWE 2K23’s already impressive roster of superstars with new DLC packs and free playable wrestlers like Mia Yim and Candice LeRae.

While Bad Bunny was initially only available to fans to pre-orderedWWE 2K23, the high-flying rapper can now be added to any player’s main event thanks to the newly releasedWWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Editionor standalone Bad Bunnypack. Bad Bunny wowed wrestling fans with his impressive victory against Damien Priest atBacklash 2023, and this new DLC allowsWWE 2K23players to relieve this match in the virtual arena.
