Fans were introduced to several thrilling features, including flying, set to transform map exploration. Kuro Games made a bold move by unveiling five new characters ahead of the game’s PS5 launch, leaving fans eager for more. This list has been updated to include all confirmed and speculated details about these Resonators.
1Zani
Confirmed for v2.0
Although little is known about Zani, she’s quickly becoming the most anticipatednew character inWuthering Wavesfor all the right reasons. Fans are praising her unique style, which sets her apart from other girls inWuWa, portraying her as serious and possibly even a bit masculine. She’s also trending due to her rumored connection to the Montelli family, known to include Roccia as a daughter. Some believe Zani is the family’s eldest daughter, making her Roccia’s older sister.
While herElement and Weaponremain unconfirmed, speculation suggests Zani might be a Rectifier user based on her drip-marketed artwork. Alternatively, she could wield Gauntlets, though Roccia seems a more likely candidate for that role. Current theories suggest Kuro Games has introduced one Resonator for each Weapon Type, positioning Zani as the probable Rectifier user since Roccia is expected to claim the Gauntlets.
2Carlotta
Stat-wise, Carlotta stands out as the most popular upcoming Resonator inWuthering Waves. She has captured fans’ hearts for many reasons, including speculation that her voice actress is Jennifer English, known forvoicing Shadowheart inBaldur’s Gate 3.
Carlotta is confirmed to be a five-star unit, and her leaked kit reveals that she will be a Glacio-Type Resonator. Most excitingly, she will wield Pistols—a long-awaited addition forWuWaplayers, making her the first five-star Resonator with this weapon type.
3Roccia
Another intriguing character confirmed forWuWa2.0 is Roccia, the second daughter of the Montelli family. Lore hints at her connection with spirits, with her Post-Lament Anthropocene file,Stars Intertwined,referencing “Pero,” speculated to be a spirit she can summon.
Roccia is widely believed to wield Gauntlets, as her files mention a mysterious box she carries—one seemingly full of surprises. This could also suggest her ability to summon the creatures depicted around her in official artwork shared onWuthering Waves’ Twitter account.
4Phoebe
Phoebe is alreadydrawing comparisons to Jinshi. She’s speculated to be a figure of authority in Rinascita, possibly in charge of the region. Based on her artwork, Phoebe is also believed to wield either a Spectro or Fusion Sword. Beyond this, not much is known about her, except that she seems connected to the higher realm, as suggested by her introduction line: “May the Sentinel guide those who are lost.”
5Brant
Wuthering Wavesfans who have been concerned about the game’s girl-heavy roster can now look forward to the addition of a new male character in version 2.0: Brant. He is believed to be the leader of the Fool’s Troupe, possibly a pirate group. Brant is likely to be a Broadblade user, and he might be connected to Roccia, who is introduced as the First Mate of the Fool’s Troupe.
As for his Element, Kuro Games has yet to reveal any details, leaving fans to speculate. It’s also uncertain when Brant will be released, with many suggesting he may not be part of the initial character roster for v2.0’s launch on June 26, 2025.

Opinions vary regardingScar’spotential recruitment in the upcoming seasons ofWuthering Waves. Some believe he’s a likely future Resonator, citing examples from similar Gacha-style games where antagonists have become popular playable characters. Given Scar’s popularity among fans, even as an NPC, his inclusion in the team of Echo hunters wouldn’t be surprising to many. However, others argue that Scar’s unique weapon, cards, could pose technical challenges when integrating them withWuthering Waves’weapon types, making his addition less likely.
During Scar’s boss fight, players witness him engaging in close-range fist combat and throwing projectiles at the player. With this in mind, a possible gameplay mechanic for Scar could involve him using Gauntlets as a weapon initially and then transitioning to using projectiles like cards once his Ultimate is activated. However, there’s currently no official statement or hint to confirm that Scar might someday become a playable character.
A leak suggests that Kuro Games is nerfing Scar, which could be a sign that he will become a playable character in the near future.
7Geshu Lin (Speculated)
Genshu Linis introduced during a cutscene in theWuthering Wavescampaign. From this short clip, players learn thathe is Jiyan’s mentorand is highly-regarded as one of the commanders of Solaris-3. Additionally, using visual hints in the cutscene, players have speculated that Geshu Lin could joinWuthering Wavesas a Broadblade-wielding Electro-Element Resonator.
This theory stems from the fact that he is seen holding a long blade with purplish hues emanating from it. InWuthering Waves, long swords are referred to as Broadblades, and the color purple is loosely correlated to Electro damage, both of which would fit seamlessly into the game’s established combat system.
8Phrolova
Similar to Scar,Phrolovais another character anticipated to joinWuthering Wavesdespite being considered unlikely. Not much is known about this mysterious woman in red, but she can be seen in a cutscene using her magical wand to summon Echoes.
