Each new phase forWorld of Warcraft Classic:Season of Discoverybringsnew Runes for every class, including a variety of new Rogue Runes forSoD Phase 4. In addition to new P4 Rogue Runes for the Cloak slot, there are a variety of Rogue Ring Runes to choose from which grant a variety of skill bonuses, intended to level the playing field at max level.
Though there are lots of new Rogue Runes that complement those introduced inPhase 1 and Phase 2, andin Phase 3, some of these older Runes may have been removed and replaced, or changed entirely. This guide details what the new Rogue Cloak Runes and Rogue Ring Runes do in SoD P4, and explains what (if any) Runes were removed and replaced with new options.
Updated July 07, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: There are three new SoD P4 Rogue Cloak Runes, and several new Phase 4 Rogue Ring Runes, that players can collect in the latest phase for Season of Discovery. After a particularly productive weekend after the release of SoD Phase 4, Rogue Runes locations have all been discovered. This guide has been updated to include detailed instructions to find all new Rogue Runes Phase 4 introduced, including specific coordinates to help you hone in on the exact location of every new Rogue Rune SoD P4 players can get.
Blunderbuss Effects
How To Get Blunderbuss Rune: The SoD Blunderbuss Rune location is in the Eastern Plaguelands. Go to Tyr’s Hand and use your Lockpicking skill on various Scarlet Lockboxes throughout the area. You will eventually get a Sending Sigil item. Use this Sending Sigil at the four Sending Pillars located in the far northwest, south, northeast, and east of the Eastern plaguelands. You will be sent to a house with a chest after interacting with the last Pillar, and the Blunderbuss Rune can be found inside of this secret chest.
How To Get Crimson Tempest Rune: The SoD Crimson Tempest Rune location is in the Western Plaguelands. Go to Hearthglen, in the far north of the zone, and either Pickpocket or defeat workers around thee area to get a Toolbox Key. Look for the Blacksmith in Hearthglen and open the Toolbox inside to get a Crowbar. Go to the tower in the center of Hearthglen and climb it to find a chest – pry the chest open with the Crowbar, then go to the tower to the north of Hearthglen and open the chest found here, too. This second chest at the northern tower contains the Rune of the Crimson Tempest.
How To Get Fan of Knives Rune: The SoD Fan of Knives Rune location is in Winterspring. Go to Winterfall Village, to the east of Everlook, and look for a chest out in the open. A dialogue box will open up and ask you to choose a symbol, and this process happens three times. Select “Frostsaber” first, then “Owl”, then “Bear”, then finally “Owl” again. The chest should pop open and reward you the Fan of Knives rune.
New Rogue Ring Runes In P4
All Rogue Ring Runes follow the same unlock method – find specific books somewhere in the world, and you will unlock Ring Runes that boost your Skill for particular class weapons and spell specializations. At Max Level, against elite higher-than-60 mobs, having a +5 to your weapon or spell skills makes it significantly less likely that you will miss attacks and casts.
Thesenew Runes give every classthe ability to boost two of their Weapon Skills, Spell Specializations, or Defense Skills by a small, but not insignificant, amount. When it comes to new Rogue Ring Runes,WoW SoDplayers have seven choices.
How To Get Nature Specialization Rune: To find the Nature Specialization Rune location, go to Felwood to Felpaw Village and look for this SoD Ring Rune in the cave that connects to Winterspring. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (62.5, 7.5).
How To Get Dagger Specialization Rune: To find the Dagger Specialization Rune location, head to the far southwest of Silithus to the Burning Blade camp and look for this Red Book in one of the first tents. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (20.5, 19.5).
How To Get Defense Specialization Rune: To find the Defense Specialization Rune location, head to Lower Blackrock Spire, specifically to its meeting stone near the instance portal. The Red Book should be inside a side room near the Meeting Stone. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (29.5, 38).
How To Get Fist Weapon Rune: To find the Fist Weapon Specialization Rune location, head to Silithus almost directly between Hive’zora and Cenarion Hold (on the world map, there is a building icon near the spot). This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (37, 44.5).
How To Get Ranged Weapon Specialization Rune: To find the Ranged Weapon Specialization Rune location, go to the Marris Stead in the southwest Eastern Plaguelands, just north of the road that leads to Light’s Hope Chapel from the Western Plaguelands. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (26, 73.5).
How To Get Sword Specialization Rune: To find the Sword Specialization Rune location, go to Deadwind Pass to Karazhan and look for a cave near the Master’s Cellar. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (43, 74.5) inside this cave.
