World of Warcraft: Dragonflightbrings with it one of the game’s most engaging and long-overdue features, Dragonriding. ThisWorld of Warcraftmechanic adds flight physics to players’ mounts when they take to the skies, while also giving them countless customization options for their favorite dragon steeds. Although it has only been in the game for a few months, festive events like Noblegarden introduce even more options for customization that haven’t been seen before.

Dragonriding has a huge number of benefits, as it accelerates gameplay while adding a level of skill to the flying mechanic. No longer is flying just like running, in which players merely point in one direction and press the forward key; now gravity is a tool that takes practice and skill to make the best result out of a limited amount of energy. The players’ dragons will swoop, dive, and spin, gaining and losing momentum in the same manner as any winged creature would in real life. All this fun, but few things give players more joy than a unique aesthetic, something Blizzard has pushed with the game’s latest seasonal event.

World of Warcraft’s Dragonriding Is a Great Way for Players to Feel Unique

Customization is an integral part of any MMORPG, andWorld of Warcraftis no exception. Players take great pride in the way they look, whether it’s for roleplaying purposes, to impress their friends, or just to be themselves. Now,World of Warcrafthas extended this rule to players' dragon mounts too. There are four base models for dragons that the players can unlock, each having a unique size, animation, and flavor, although more are inevitably on their way.

Each of the four Dragonriding mounts has a slew of options when it comes to their colors, textures, and saddles. Players can pick what horns and crests they have, and even choose minute details on their chins, tails, and ears. With all of these aspects combined, hitting the “randomize” button will instantly make the drake into a completely different creature - though this depends on how many customization options the player has unlocked, as many of them arecollected throughWorld of Warcraftquesting, killing bosses, or earning achievements.

This year’s Noblegarden introduces an extra reward that players can earn: a toy called ‘A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs,’ available for 200 chocolates. Chocolates can be earned through a variety of festive activities, which have been made easier this year, and the toy will show up as a basket of eggs hanging from the drake’s mouth. It works with all four of the Dragonriding mounts while they are airborne.

Now players can give their dragons some extra flair by making them part of the spring celebration. This addition suggests Noblegarden won’t be the last holiday to introduce mount decorations, so players can likely expect futurefestive events inWorld of Warcraftwill include their own additions. For example, Hallow’s End - the game’s version of Halloween - will have many players excited for what spooky look their drake can adopt.

It’s clear by now that even more customizations will be coming toWorld of Warcraftwith every content update. Dragonriding itself has offered players a whole new way to engage with the world around them, reinvigorating aspects like World PvP, questing, and leveling. Each player will have a unique drake to call their own, making flying not just a method of transport, but a way for players to truly express themselves.
