World of Warcrafthas rarely shown restraint when it came to designing the mounts that players can purchase from the store or obtain from the game, and one of its fans put forward a brilliant idea for a multiseater that would continue this tradition. Mounts come from a variety of sources, with the most famous one being as rare drops looted from bosses across the numerous dungeons andraids inWorld of Warcraft.

Often times, and to the disgruntlement of its players, store exclusive mounts seem to get the most attention and care from the developers - a trend that started inCataclysmand was only further exacerbated during the content drought inBattle for Azerothwith the inclusion of six-month subscription mounts. However, theintroduction of the Trading Post toWorld of Warcrafthas produced a new avenue for Blizzard and the community to reach a compromise.

Posted on the official subreddit forWorld of Warcraft, HjalmarRambles showcased their idea of a multiseat carriage mount that would feel right at home within the new reward framework established with the Trading Post. Inspired by the Hive Mind mount released in the final patch ofBattle for Azeroth, the carriage would accommodate a full party of five people, no doubt offering them a stylish way to ride from one Mythic keystone to the next.

The brilliance in the carriage mount idea lies in both its lore-friendly design and its possibility to make race-based varieties. An Orc caravan, a Pandaren rickshaw, and a Gnome transport mech are but a few examples listed by HjalmarRambles on how the concept could be scaled further. However, multiseater mounts like this tend to attract foul play, as nothing would prevent aPaladin inWorld of Warcraftfrom running the carriage off a cliff, dismounting, and using Divine Shield to watch their party members plummet to their deaths.

Though the Dragon Isles have certainly introduced plenty of cool mounts to obtain, the realobsession for players inDragonflighthas been dragonriding. This feature has completely transformed the way fans approach travel across the playable zones inWorld of Warcraftto the point that the community regularly implores Blizzard to consider implementing dragonriding outsideDragonflight, as well as to continue to support the feature in future expansions.

While there’s no guarantee that Blizzard will ever implement a carriage multiseat mount inWorld of Warcraft, the precedent already exists with Vulpera caravans, Venthyr carriages, and Fiona’s wagon that all featured in quests frompastWorld of Warcraftexpansions. It’s certainly an idea that wouldn’t feel out of place in Azeroth or beyond, but given the nature of the Dragon Isles, it makes sense to keep the focus on dragonriding for now.

World of Warcraftis available now on PC.
