Recently,World of Warcraftshowed off the new login screen, and a couple of months later, the main theme ofDragonflight. Now, the soaring and inspirational music and background feature a flyby of the Dragon Queen herself, set over a beautiful scene of the mist-covered Tyrhold, located in Thaldraszus.

During the looping screen, Alexstrasza lands on one of the high pillars of Thaldraszus. She perches upon it for a moment before leaping off and swooping past the screen. The added action on the otherwise idyllic scene adds life to the login screen it otherwise lacked. Consideringevery login screen inWorld of Warcraft’shistoryfeatured a gate, a dragon, or both, Alexstrasza’s addition to theDragonflightlogin screen could be considered inevitable.
Players are glad to see Alexstrasza make her way onto the login screen. Many cited the original felt empty without a few dragons flying around the scene. Some hopeWorld of Warcraftwill actually add more dragons to the login screenas theDragonflightpatches progress, eventually leading to the sky being a colorful canvas of dragons as it was in the announcement cinematic.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflightis well on its way to release. The first phase of the Pre-Patch is currently underway, with the second phase just around the corner. Soon, players will be able to create Dracthyr Evokers, explore the Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr dungeon, and participate in the limited-time Primal Storms world event. A couple of weeks later,Dragonflightwill go live, allowing players to explore the ancestral homeland of dragonkind.
Some players are worriedDragonflightwon’t be ready for its November 28 launch. Some fearWorld of Warcraftis rushing to put out the expansion pack just to avoid having a delay as it did withShadowlands. While reports from the beta have been largely positive, some still have concerns thatDragonflightcould use some extra time for balancing and bug squashing. Nevertheless,World of Warcraftseems intent on releasing the expansionon time, for better or for worse. Once it does, players can enjoy being greeted by the login screen of Alexstrasza and Thaldraszus for the next two years untilWorld of Warcraftreleases its next expansion pack.
