Wasteland 3players looking for additional lore about the history of Colorado will be given an opportunity to find it with the upcoming final DLC. With much ofWasteland 3spent encountering enemies, from mutants to humanoid monsters, players have been left wondering where these interesting creatures are coming from. The game provides few answers to these questions, but the upcoming DLC, Cult of the Holy Detonation, will finally fill in the missing links this October.

Wasteland 3is among many modern games adapting to the top-down mixture of live exploration and turn-based combat, similar toDivinity Original SinorBaldur’s Gate. The roleplay aspects of the game as well add many ways for players to learn about the lore and interact with the manyrecruitable followers inWasteland 3. With so much to explore across the world map and individual cities, players find themselves discovering the reason for the game’sFallout-like atmosphere and come toe-to-toe with the remaining hostile people who inhabit it.

In this finale ofWasteland 3DLC, players will unlock a side quest that has them meet a brand new squad of enemies who all worship the “Holy Detonation.” This “Cult of the Holy Detonation,” praises the nuclear fall-out that ravages Colorado, and they celebrate the mutations that it’s caused on many of the creatures throughout the state. Unlike before whereTeam November discovered cyborg chickensand mutant animals for inexplicable reasons, players will now have some backstory to explain these strange styles of enemies across the game.

According to InXile, this is the final full expansion, so many players will see this as the end to theWasteland 3storyline. Luckily, theWasteland 3developers are working on a new RPG. Still, though, this final DLC will add a hefty amount of content for players to enjoy, which will allow them not only to flush out their lore understanding of Colorado, but also to strengthen their Rangers.

AlongsideWasteland 3’s first DLC, the Battle of Steeltown, the new expansion will be adding several additional hours onto the already long playtime of the game. With several alternate endings, upwards of a dozen companions to interact with, and hundreds of potential builds for players to attempt, the sheer time to complete everything in the game can last several days. These upcoming DLCs for the game will only magnify the massive amount of playtime possible for those who are deeply interested in the Colorado wasteland ofWasteland 3.
