Fans ofCall of Duty: Warzone 2’s unique Heavy Chopper vehicle will be sad to hear that it’s been disabled for the time being. The massive aerial combat platform allowed for some maneuvering in the game’s Battle Royale modes, meaning players could wait out particularly tense confrontations in midair, avoiding combat for much of the given match. The fact thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2would have a number of potential opportunities for gameplay exploits isn’t particularly surprising, considering the sheer number of unique vehicles, weapons, and gadgets available. Some of them, however, have gotten substantially more oppressive than others have, and the Heavy Chopper has now been taken to task for it.RELATED:DMZ Is Great Practice for Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s Main ModeMuch as was the case withWarzone 2’s temporary removal of certain Perks, Raven Software has now taken the game’s Heavy Chopper out for maintenance, making it unavailable for use in Battle Royale modes. An immensely powerful flying combat platform, the Heavy Chopper essentially allowed players to camp out entireWarzonematches in the air, only jumping into the fray in its final stages. Even more frustrating was the Heavy Chopper’s ability to hover in place wherever the players wanted it to, which means it was possible to set up an impromptu sniping nest wherever needed.

Though the player base wasn’t thrilled that important features such asWarzone 2’s Combat Records got postponedinstead of coming out as part of Season 1 Reloaded update, the disabling of the Heavy Chopper should make the game more enjoyable to the average player. What proves as much is that, on Twitter, many have jumped to praise Raven Software’s decision to temporarily ban the Heavy Chopper fromWarzone 2.

Of course, this does nothing for exploits such asWarzone 2’s flying boat hackerwhich came up just a few weeks back, as those are entirely unpredictable and unplanned. The Heavy Chopper itself, however, was always supposed to be a sort of flying fortress for players who don’t mind hovering above the playing area for long stretches of time. Now, this functionality may end up getting revised in some sense.

Players that have already accrued plenty of game time will know thatWarzone 2is still missing many features, but the developers do appear to be working hard to alleviate these problems. Over time, the game’s feature set is bound to grow, and if Raven Software’s approach to development is anything to go by, outlier vehicles and gadgets will be getting tuned accordingly, too.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
