Summary
Twitchstreamer Oliver “Stoopzz” Sabahi teared up during an August 1 broadcast after his viewers teamed up to pay off his massive hospital bill.
Since starting his streaming career in July 2017, Stoopzz amassed over 175,000 Twitch followers with hisWorld of Warcraftbroadcasts that he eventually replaced withBlack Desert Onlinestreams. While that makes him more successful than the vast majority of content creators trying to make a name for themselves, streamingBlack Desert Onlinehasn’t yet turned into a highly lucrative career for Stoopzz, with TwitchTracker ranking him as the 4201st most popular streamer on the platform, based on his follower count. According to a 2023 survey by StreamScheme, the top 1,000 and 10,000 Twitch streamers make a minimum of $7,063 and $904 per month, respectively.

With Stoopzz presumably being somewhere in the middle of that income spectrum, he was understandably taken aback by a hospital bill in excess of $60,000 after suffering a broken hip during a trip to Mexico in late July. And though the emergency surgery he required could have thrown him into crippling debt, hisTwitchfollowers made sure that this unfortunate episode had a happy ending by gifting him hundreds of paid subscriptions and donations that promptly helped him settle his medical expenses. “Thank you guys so much,” the streamer said during his latest broadcast while wiping tears from his face.
Having fractured his hip in three places, Stoopzz presumably still has a long road to recovery ahead. Whether physical therapy ends up getting in the way of his broadcast schedule remains to be seen, though the content creator himself implied he’s eager to continue regularBlack Desert Onlinestreams as soon as possible. His Mexico accident prevented him from broadcasting for 12 days in total.
Not all online entertainers boast such universally caring followings as Stoopzz does. This was most recently illustrated by General Sam, a well-knownTwitch streamer who had the displeasure of receiving a dead pig in the mail.
Stoopzz isn’t the only popular content creator who faced health issues over the last several months. Famous YouTuberIShowSpeed ended up in a Tokyo hospitalon July 30, whereas Twitch celebrity Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa revealed she has late-stage ovarian failure back in June, shortly afterValorantstreamer Kyedae opened up about her cancer diagnosis.
