Triangle Strategyis aTactics-like RPG from Square Enix. This sweeping tale is all about corruption, greed, politics, war, and slavery, delving deep into some heavy topics while players battle for their lives. While this story continues along the bloody trail that players choose with all the differentconvictions and choices inTriangle Strategy, they will also need to level and upgrade their characters in order to win battles.
Levels vs. Class in Triangle Strategy
Players who are picking up this JRPG for the first time may be wondering just what the difference between upgrading and leveling is. In this game, units will level by accomplishing tasks in battle that give XP. Attacking, using items, and special abilities all will grand units XP to get them closer toTriangle Strategy’s max levelwhich is 50.

Upgrading on the other hand is all about the unit’s class. All story units begin as a Recruit, and they can be leveled to Veteran. This will change their class, adding new moves and making the unit better. The upgrade from Recruit to Veteran happens when playersuse a Medal of Braveryat the Encampment and the unit is level 10 or higher.
Optional characters inTriangle Strategycan begin at the Veteran level. All Veterans need to do in order to level their class again is to be level 20 and use a Medal of Valor at the Encampment.

Classes in Triangle Strategy
Here’s an example of how classes change inTriangle Strategy. The main character of the story, Serenoa Wolffort, can be upgraded twice.
Unfortunately, these are the only class options for Serenoa in the game; players do not get to choose a skill tree or from a different set of classes. Characters are not very customizable inTriangle Strategy, meaning that players will need to change to one of the other 30 playable characters in the game if they are looking for different types of skills from their unit.
Jobs in Triangle Strategy
Just like with classes, players should not expect jobs inTriangle Strategyto be alterable. Players will want to instead choose the types of jobs they will need among the units instead of trying to alter the units themselves. The jobs that units can have in the game are the typical jobs for any RPG:
Units that are Healing units can never be altered to be anything else in the game, so players will need to change out a character instead of attempting to make one of those units into something they are not. That being said, there are so many possible combinations ofunits inTriangle Strategythat players shouldn’t have any trouble building up the team of their dreams.
