InThymesia, once Plague Weapons are obtained, they are upgraded using Skill Shards. These Skill Shards are obtained through fighting various enemies, with certain areas being ideal locations to farm. The player will want to collect as many as possible to ensure theirPlague Weapons are at their peak, as the enemies only get harder the farther Corvus progresses. With Skill Shards coming in Standard, Boss, and Rare levels, they have different difficulties in collecting them. Knowing all the best farming locations is key to fast leveling.

Standard Skill Shards

The Royal Garden is a hot spot for Standard Shards. This area features several greenhouses, an underground laboratory, and a library. All these locations are hiding enemies that will drop one Skill Shard or another. For the Standard Shards, they can get Bow Shards from the archers, Whip Shards, and Scythe Shards from farmer enemies. Standard Shards are the most basic Shards that players can earn from fighting lower-tier enemies.

The Bow offers excellent range, allowing players to aim at their enemies from a significant distance away. By upgrading it, they can make it shoot more arrows. With the Scythe, players can cut a large horizontal slash while covering a huge radius. The Whip is a ranged weapon, allowing for long-distance attacks that set the player up to move in quickly for close-range attacks. Players can repeatedly come back to these levels, seeking out the enemies that drop the Skill Shards they need to level up their Plague Weapons.

Boss Skill Shards

The Sea of Trees levels offers the most activity for bosses, allowing the most opportunity for collecting Boss Shards. Boss Shards can only be acquired through the defeat of the respective boss. The first Shard will award Corvus with the base version of the boss’s weapon. Subsequent Shards will be used to upgrade it. The boss opportunities include the main level adversary Odur andtwo sub-quest bosses, Mutated Odur and the God of the Fools. They each drop Skill Shards unique to their own weapons, allowing the player to level them up.

By defeating Odur, players will obtain Miasma Shards. Miasma is a weapon that creates a cloud of smoke in front of Corvus, knocking his enemies back slightly while buffing his dodge abilities.Mutated Odur will dropMutated Tentacles Shards. This weapon causes a mass of tentacles to come out of Corvus and shoot in front of him at his enemies. The God of the Foolswill reward players with Fools' Punch Shards. This can be a very powerful weapon to use as it charges up to knock down enemies with a shockwave. Repeating boss levels is the only way to continuously collect the essential Skill Shards needed to upgrade the Plague Weapons they award Corvus upon their first defeat.

Rare Skill Shards

The Sea of Trees levels has the most opportunity for Rare Shards. Players will be going back to square one by searching for these Skill Shards. This area within this level is made up of a massive tree with many platforms and rickety shacks strung together by poorly constructed bridges and ladders. Rare Shards come from very specific enemies in certain locations that may put up a stronger fight. The Rare Shards that are available here include Hammer Shards, Flying Daggers Shards, and Fist Shards.

Hammer Shards are dropped by hammer clown enemies. The Hammer offers heavy damage as it swings down in front of Corvus. Acrobats drop Flying Daggers Shards. This weapon will allow Corvus to have several hidden blades and have another option for ranged combat. Players can get Fist Shards from large brute enemies. This weapon equips Corvus with a much larger fist that he can slam down in front of himself for massive damage, delivering a short-range shockwave.
