Hogwarts Legacyis doing quite well in reviews. It’s always hard to tell if a game is going to be good after suffering multiple delays. Sometimes, like in the case of Forspoken which is another magic-based RPG, things don’t work out.

Thankfully, fans were treated to a magical adventure inHogwarts Legacy. These good reviews, and a majority of the fan support, may give Warner Brothers' various game studios the idea to make a sequel. Maybe there is one in the works right now in preproduction. The following are some things that would be cool to see in a sequel as well as some possible things the game could be based around.
8Become An Auror
Players have done the whole school thing already and lived out their Hogwarts fantasies as a teenager. Now it’s time for them to become an adult and explore the greater wizarding world. It would be a cool idea to theme the game around being an Auror for the Ministry of Magic.
Taking place after the Harry Potter books or before would be a good idea as that would give them more room to play around without being constricted. The game could even be likeBatman: Arkham Asylumwherein an Auror gets trapped in Azkaban and has to escape akinto a Metroidvania.

7Go To A Different School
If the development team still wants to stick with schoolwork then they should go to a different country. There are tons of other magical schools out there that would be great to see imagined for the first time in a video game. The books mention Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute which could be options.
Hogwarts Legacymentions Uagadou which is the school Natsai came from. That school is unique because they use their hands insteadof using wands. JRPG fans would assuredly love to see a game set in Japan via the Mahoutokoro school, which is a greater lore drop.

6Create A Potter-sona
If the game was set in Japan, then WB should hand the development over to Atlus. The hype that would be amassed if Atlus made aHarry Pottergame set in Japan that played likePersonawould be intense. Even if this is a pipe dream, the next game can certainly learn from the day-to-day life of students from thePersonaseries.

The biggest thing missing inHogwarts Legacywas building relationships with students. There were three key students central to the plot, but players couldn’t truly bond with them. Whatever happens in the sequel, more snogging needs to be involved.
5Add Morality
Another big thing missing from the game was morality and choice. Players could technically make choices but they didn’t change the story much. Even picking a House didn’t create a vastly different experience for players. It was weird being able touse Unforgivable Cursesin front of professors without getting in trouble.
That created a weird disconnect between established lore and gameplay. Hopefully, the next game can have a more dynamic storytelling setup.

4Some Sort Of Multiplayer
It was rare for a time to see a single-player game released without any kind of online component. Now, the reverse is true where online aspects are becoming rarer unless games are being developed around multiplayer. This game didn’t need multiplayer to be good but it certainly wouldn’t have hurt it.
Imagine ifHogwarts Legacyhad a mode wherein players could have taken on dungeonstogether via co-op. It could have been completely separate from the campaign and that’s what the sequel could try.

3Create A Party
If the developers still want to create an offline experience, then the game should at least add proper party members. Players could be joined by allies in certain missions inHogwarts Legacy, but they couldn’t be directed. They did their own thing which worked out for the most part because the AI was decent.

If the sequel does add party members that players can choose to adventure with or not, then they should also be able to control them.Mass Effecthad a good party system like thiswith diverse charactersand more games should directly follow that original trilogy’s model.
2Add Quidditch
Hogwarts Legacyhas a few mini-games in it like the Summoner’s Court, but there should have been more. The biggest omission was Quidditch which the developers attempt to explain through the story. They can’t get away with that excuse two games in a row though as fans would be furious.
They already havethe broom physicsfigured out, so it’s not unreasonable to imagine they can figure out Quidditch as a game too. Another mini-game that would be fun to see in a sequel is Wizard’s Chess, or perhaps some sort of card game.

1More Spell Variety
Most of the spells in this game are used for figuring out puzzles. They can be used in battle too, but their uses had varying degrees of effect. The biggest letdown was that a lot of spells were copycats of one another. There was Levioso, Wingardium Leviosa, Flipendo, and Descendo which all more or less involved floating objects or enemies in various ways.
There were a lot of fire spells but only one ice spell. So, a better spell variety in the sequel is a must, but the sequel could alsocreate character classesto further improve how spells are divided.

Hogwarts Legacywas released on July 21, 2025, and is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
