How to Get a Job in The Sims 4

Sims have several options when it comes to getting a job. Of course, players can start their Sims off with a random career if they use Story Mode in Create-A-Sim, which assigns their traits, starting funds, and a potential career. Otherwise, they can get a job after moving a Sim onto a lot.

Sims can get a job using a computer, phone, or the Career Panel at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Every Sim has a cellphone on them automatically, but a computer must be bought, or Sims can use a public one at a library lot. Players must select the Sim they want to be employed andchoose Join a Careerto pull up the job menu.

Job options range from freelance,part-time, careers, and gigs if players have certain DLC downloaded. Sims who are Teens or older can get jobs. Each job has an hourly rate, working hours, and a description that has a brief overview of the work they will be doing.

To get a job, choose one, and the Sim will be notified when their first day is and if there are any tasks they can complete toget a head start on work. Sims can change careers at any time without penalty, but if they want to go back, they will begin at level one rather than the career level they left at.

How to Go to Work in The Sims 4

After joining a career, the next step is to go to work. Sims will start the following work day even if they get the job before their shift starts. Sims can ensure they are prepared for their first day by fulfilling all their needs, doing their work tasks, and having theneeded skills to progress.

On their work days, Sims will get a notification an hour before work that it is almost time to go. Sims will automatically leave when they’re supposed to unless they are doing a different task, so keep an eye on the time.
