As they themselves note, this edition is nearly a decade old at this point and would surely be a fantastic find for any die-hardThe Last of Usfan to find in their home. The finding of this special collector’s edition, likeThe Last of Us’ Post-Pandemic Edition, is a great reason why hanging onto these copies can be rewarding so many years later, and this fan has confirmed that they plan to keep their newfound Survival Edition sealed for the foreseeable future in an effort to preserve its value.
In what may now be considered a rare relic to find,The Last of Us’ Survival Edition came packaged with a 170-page hardcover artbook from Dark Horse, a steelbook display case with the game included, and the first issue ofThe Last of Us’American Dreamscomic bookwith variant cover art. The Survival Edition also came with digital downloads dubbed the Sights and Sounds DLC pack, which included the official game soundtrack, a dynamic PS3 background theme, and PSN avatars that depicted Joel and Ellie in winter.
The lucky fan has access to all of this content, depending on how long they have before the codes for downloadable PS3 content expires.The Last of Us’ other collector’s edition, the Post-Pandemic Edition, is similar in terms of content but with some additions and substitutions that were made to it.
For example, the Post-Pandemic Edition replaced the artbook with a 12-inch premium statue of Joel and Ellie from Project Triforce. Further, the digital Sights and Sounds DLC from the Survival Edition is accompanied by a Survival DLC pack that features multiplayer bonuses, such as bonus XP, a melee booster, in-game currency, and customizable character items, as well as bonus Joel and Ellie skins that unlock once thesingle-player component ofThe Last of Usis complete.
