The Flashtrailer was unveiled on Super Bowl Sunday. The trailer featured the best look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl yet, and actress Sasha Calle took to social media to share her excitement and hope that fans fall in love with the character as she did.

The Flashis currently set for a June release. The firstFlashtrailershowcased Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) finding himself trapped in an alternate universe after trying to travel into the past to prevent his mother’s murder. Unfortunately, this causes a ripple effect that eliminates every meta-human from the timeline. Even Superman isn’t unaffected: rather than an infant Clark landing on Earth, Calle’s Kara landed on the planet instead and was taken into custody by the government.

In a post to her Twitter, Calle excitedly promotedThe Flashtrailer. Stating that getting to know Supergirl was one of her greatest honors, Calle also shouted out to her fans, telling them she loved them. “Y’ALL! I LOVE YOU! I PUT MY HEART AND SOUL INTO SUPERGIRL. IT’S SO EXCITING TO FINALLY SHARE A LITTLE BIT OF HER WITH YOU! SHE’S SO SPECIAL & STRONG. GETTING TO KNOW HER & FEEL HER HAS BEEN ONE OF MY GREATEST HONORS. I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND I LOVE YOU! JUNE 16. LET’S F****** GOOOO!” Calle wrote, before continuing in another post. “IF THERES ANYTHING SUPERGIRL HAS TAUGHT ME, IT’S HOPE. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!”

Calle’s excitement has likely been building for some time. The Flashhas undergone some significant delays, and it was announced thatCalle would play Supergirl inThe Flashtwo years ago. Though the trailer instilled some faith in fans, the movie has undoubtedly undergone some troubles in its production.

Calle’s future as the character is uncertain. James Gunn confirmedThe Flashis a soft reboot for the DCUbut did not say which actors would stay on board past the film’s ending. Should Calle’s Supergirl make it forward in the new DCU, there are a few avenues they could take her down. While Calle could play Supergirl in the DCU proper, it’s also possible that she could make the jump to another character: Power Girl.

Power Girl isan alternate version of Supergirl. Though she hails from an alternate universe, she eventually becomes trapped in the main DC universe, where she meets her cousin, Clark, and her counterpart. Power Girl has had decades of stories since her debut but has never been depicted in a theatrical film. Now that Calle’s Supergirl is involved in an alternate universe story, it may be the perfect opportunity to bring her back as Power Girl.

The Flashis scheduled to be released in theaters on July 08, 2025.
