AStar Wars Jedi: Survivorplayer used the in-game lightsaber customization system to create the perfect replica of the lightsaber toy they had as a kid. WhileStar Wars Jedi: Survivorhas been riddled with glitches and crashes for all platforms, especially on high-end PCs, those who’ve been fortunate enough to be lightly or not at all affected by its litany of technical faults have been having a ball with its engaging combat, compelling story, and its various customization systems.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris the sequel to 2019’sStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It continues the tale of Cal Kestis, a former Jedi padawan who survived the Jedi Purge brought about when Emperor Palpatine famously enacted Order 66 as depicted across variousStar Warsmedia, most prominently inStar Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. An aspect ofSurvivorplayers have immediately taken to are the character customization options that have, among several other things, allowed players to makeCal look like a space trucker with a mulletand a scraggly beard.

A fun feature ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivorthat’s been carried over fromFallen Orderand expanded upon is lightsaber customization. Players can find cosmetic upgrades as they explore the various planets throughout the game, including a ton of cosmetic options for lightsabers. This has allowed players to craft the lightsaber of their dreams or, in the case of Reddit user KeepCamAndCarryOn, recreate the lightsaber toy they owned as a child, purple blade and all.
The lightsaber KeepCamAndCarryOn had as a kid appears to be a mishmash ofdifferent lightsaber components found inStar Wars Jedi: Survivorused by at least two different characters inStar Warscanon. The purple blade was made famous by actor Samuel L. Jackson in his portrayal of Jedi Master Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy. The hilt also hails from the prequel trilogy, but a different Jedi. That’s Obi-Wan Kenobi’s hilt as seen inThePhantom MenaceandAttack of the Clones.
It should be noted that the Obi-Wan hilt used by KeepCamAndCarryOn is not part of the base game but rather isa preorder bonus themed around Obi-Wan Kenobi. The bonus includes the Hermit Cosmetic outfit, modeled after the costume worn by Ewan McGregor in the 2022Obi-Wan KenobiDisney+ series. The preorder bonus also includes the Hermit Lightsaber Set, as used by KeepCamAndCarryOn, and it also contains the Combustion Blaster Set.Star Wars Jedi: Survivormay have some big stability issues to deal with right now, but from the amount of fun some players are experiencing, like KeepCamAndCarryOn, it seems Respawn Entertainment has found yet another way to bring theStar Warsfranchise into the hearts of children of all ages.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
