Notably, current PS4 and Xbox One owners of the acclaimed titleStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderare receiving a free cross-generation upgrade.
Prior to its release in 2019,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas already a highly-anticipated title amongStar Warsfans and evenSoulsfans. It became so popular that Respawn Entertainment gave players doctor’s notes in order to avoid work and stay home to play the game. Since then, the rumor mill has consistently hinted at the possibility of aFallen Order 2being in development. Withthe perfect reveal date around the corner, fans have been holding out hope that the sequel would finally be announced.

Today, theStar Warswebsite officially announced the next-generation release ofStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, bringing to it numeroustechnical improvementsfor the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. Following the trend of other developers, the website also confirmed that current owners of the title would receive a free cross-generation upgrade, with more details to come. As a bonus, the standard and deluxe editions of the game are up to 70% off until May 12th.
It’s far from an officialFallen Order 2announcement, but on the other hand, this may be a way to begin building up hype leading to a May 4th reveal.Fallen Orderwas announcedin the middle of an EA Play, not giving many fans the opportunity to keep a lookout for it and severely damaging its publicity. With the success of the first installment now set in stone, May 4th would be the perfect moment for a sequel announcement, even if it’s contrary to EA’s usual game reveals.
Either way, the potential for aStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2announcement is becoming all the more likely, even if it has new competition in other genres.
