Ever since it was announced thatSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewould explore the multiverse in greater depth, fans have wondered if the film will take Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) into the MCU with Tom Holland’s Spidey. According to executive producer Chris Miller, the possibility may not be so far-fetched.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis the second installment of Sony’s animated Spider-Verse series. The first film,Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, came out in 2018 and introduced audiences to Morales, who becomes Spider-Man following the death of his universe’s Peter Parker. Upon coming into contact with Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), however, Miles discovers that there’s a lot more to being Spider-Man - and far moreSpider-Man variants across the Spider-Verse- than he thinks.

In a recent issue ofEmpire,Miller (who also produced the first film) commented on the possibility of Holland’s Spider-Man variant appearing in the animated film. When asked, Miller cryptically responded, “Let’s say… Anything is possible in the multiverse.” His non-committal response invited plenty of speculation.

Marvel has beensetting up a slew of multiverse movies recently. Holland’s Spider-Man had a multiversal encounter himself in last year’sSpider-Man: No Way Home. There, he encountered villains from across the multiverse who knew he was Peter Parker. Luckily, his variants from Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man(Tobey Maguire) and Marc Webb’sThe Amazing Spider-Man(Andrew Garfield) were also brought along for the ride, and the trio managed to save the multiverse. Sadly, that came at the cost of Holland’s Peter losing everyone close to him.

Holland’s Spider-Man would probably be a fun cameo moment for the franchise to venture into. Though he probably wouldn’t be considered to be unique amongst the other Spider-themed superheroes (likeDaniel Kaluuya’s Spider-Punk), audiences would probably react favorably to his appearance. It would be a unique crossover, combining animation and live-action universes in a way that’s rarely been done before.

It’s known thatSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewill feature at least six different art styles, each one representing a different universe Miles must go through. The mainline MCU could very well be one of them. Holland’s Spider-Man is already well aware of the multiverse, so it wouldn’t be a shock to catch him up to date on what he’d be dealing with.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versehits theaters on June 11, 2025.
