Veteran spelunkers know that seeking out the rarest treasures often leads to even more loot as well as new areas and bosses. The Crown is such an item inSpelunky 2, which the player can use for a few benefits if they pop this regal bit of headwear upon their brow.

To find this precious and wearable item, players will have to seek it out in one of the most sinister locations and acquire some unexpected aid to fell an undead fiend.
Where To Find The Crown
In levels 2-2, 2-3, and 2-4 of this fiery world, there can be an entrance to Vlad’s Castle, however, since area randomization is very much a feature in this game, this gateway can be a bit tricky to find, though there are some spawning traits that can help one eliminate where an entrance to Vlad’s Castle cannot spawn.
Additionally, while in Volcana, be sure to free Van Horsing from his cell in level 2-1, as he can make slaying the dreaded Vlad a trivial task.

The Crown will be resting upon a statue on the highest level of the area in the center of the map for Vlad’s Castle. However, it will be guarded by Vlad himself, and the fierce vampire will descent from above as the player tries to take the Crown.
This is where Van Horsing repays the players for freeing him, as if the hunter is present, he will use his crossbow to launch a steel bolt at Vlad that will instantly kill the undead fiend, saving the player from having to fight the bloodthirsty menace. Now, one is free to collect the Crown, as well as Vlad’s Cape, and make their way out of the red keep.
What The Crown Does
This majestic hat grants 3 major benefits to the player while it is worn on their heads or in their inventories, however, sometimes it will need a bit of help in achieving a task.
Using The Crown To Get Excalibur
On level 4-2 of the Tide Pool, players can find a sword stuck into a stone that cannot normally be pulled out, though, if one demonstrates their worth, the legendary blade will yield to them. To do so, merely pop on the Crown (or the Hedjet) and then interact with Excalibur to pull this powerful melee weapon up from the ground.
Using The Crown For Shopkeeper Discounts
Merchants will not be able to deny a player wearing the Crown royal discounts of 50% off everything in their shop. The shopkeepers will also begin addressing the player as “your highness”.
Using The Crown & Scepter To Enter The City Of Gold
If one has both the Crown and the Scepter in their inventory, they can open the entrance to The City of Gold that can be found on level 4-2 of the Temple of Anubis.
