Many members of the gaming community considerThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimto be one of the greatest games of all time. With its expansive, detailed environments, memorable NPCs, and extensive variance in terms of how the game can be approached,Skyrimcertainly has a lot to offer in terms of content. However, players will often times encounter extremely bizarre glitches withinSkyrim.
Over the years,Skyrimand bugs have become rather synonomous with each other. WhileSkyrimis home to a number of glitches, for many fans of the game, the technical flaws make it a more unique and memorable experience, with many fans adopting the glitches into various different facets of onlineSkyrimculture. Though, this most recent glitch is one that practically any player can observe.

A Reddit user named RoastedSpaceLizard noticed that while castingspells inSkyrimfrom a third-person perspective, the character model bends up and down in an extremely bizarre manor. Depending on if the player points the camera all the way up or all the way down, the character model will bend and contort itself in ways that players would have otherwise never noticed while playing the game in first-person mode.
In some ways, it makes sense as to why the models are bending in that particular way. If the player is in active combat in first-person mode, they can direct and re-direct the camera in whichever direction they want, but in third-person mode, the player still needs to damage enemies in certain directions and distances, and therefore the camera needs to account for this. For instance, if a player were fighting adragon inSkyrimor some other airborne enemy, then they would still need to point the camera up in order to deal damage.
It’s amazing that players are still encountering things like this withinSkyrim.The game is over a decade old and not only has itmanaged to maintain its popularity, but players are still finding new things within it. In the face of the recent release ofSkyrim Anniversary Edition,which adds additional content to the game, it’s still impressive that players are still noticing small details like this.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for theElder Scrollsseries going forward. It’s been several years since Bethesda first announcedThe Elder Scrolls 6and there’s been little to no additional information released. Although, in fairness, Bethesda has had a lot of irons in the fire, what with the aforementioned release ofSkyrim Anniversary Editionand the upcoming release ofStarfield, slated to launch next year.
