Cicero is one character inSkyrimwhostands out from the restof the game’s NPCs for a number of reasons. Maybe it’s his high-pitched and manic manner of speech, or maybe it’s his role in the Dark Brotherhood, where he watches over the Night Mother’s coffin. Something else that makes this macabre jester stand out is his clothing.

There is a set of Jester’s Clothing that can be found elsewhere inSkyrim, but Cicero’s outfit is something special. Though it is classified as Clothing, and thus carries no Armor Rating, the enchantments on this red outfit make it a powerful set for just about any weapon-swinging adventurer.

Enchantments, Effects, And Stats Of Cicero’s Clothes

Cicero’s Clothes are classified as Clothing, and because of this they can’t be tempered to increase stats – with an Armor Rating of 0, it’snot like there’s anything to improve, anyway. The set carries two special enchantments: one reduces prices in every vendor by 20%, and the other increases One-Handed Damage by 20%.

The main reason players look for Cicero’s Clothes is for roleplaying purposes, as it’s a set that looks like it was pulled out of a dark fairytale. Its enchantments are nothing to scoff at, though they aren’t as powerful as some sets that can be earned around the same time in the Dark Brotherhood questline.

How To Get Cicero’s Clothes In Skyrim

Cicero’s Clothes can only be found in one place in all ofSkyrim: being worn by Cicero himself. As such, theonly way to get thisset of armor legitimately is to kill the Night Mother’s Keeper during the quest “The Cure For Madness”. This means that players cannot have Cicero as a companion after completing the Dark Brotherhood questline.

The Dark Brotherhood questline itself can be started in Windhelm, where players must talk to Aventus Arentino and kill Grelod the Kind, who runs the Riften Orphanage. “The Cure For Madness” is about halfway through the Dark Brotherhood story. When players find Cicero during this quest, he appears curled up on the floor – attacking him reveals his ruse as he jumps up and attacks the playerback at full strength. Kill him then loot his body for a set of his enchanted jester clothes!
