The Sims 4just had an update launch, but it seems that it’s broken something, as existing Sims have been transformed into silly, bizarre looking versions of themselves. TheSims 4patch, like many others in the past, seems to have arrived with some early hiccups.
The Sims 4has been around for nearly a decade at this point, but the content for the game has never stopped. Between fans meticulously recreating scenes and people inThe Sims 4and EA regularly producing new content in the form ofStuff Packs and Expansions, the game has managed to thrive for all this time.

Part of keepingThe Sims 4players involved requires releasing patches and updates, but this latest one has left some existing players befuddled. The Sims 4updated to version 1.97.42 on April 18. After downloading the update and starting up the game, many players have reported that their Sims have been transformed, with crossed eyes, severe underbites, skinny necks, and even broken razor teeth. Thankfully, not every player is encountering these problems post-update. However, for those who are, even thepremade families ofThe Sims 4have been changed, making the entire game look weird.
For fans who are impacted by the changes, help is on the way.The Sims 4’s social account informed its followers that the developers are aware of the problem and are investigating where the update went wrong. While they haven’t given an estimate as to when the problem will be fixed, players are likely happy to know that it’s already being looked into. And so far, the issue hasn’t been as severe aspriorSims 4bugs.
Interestingly enough, the latest update was mostly intended to add a few minor features and fix a lot of bugs. It’s not clear how a graphical glitch like this managed to get through. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to bypass the glitch at this time, as players have reported that even resetting their Sims or changing their physical features doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Thankfully, there don’t seem to be any major additional problems, so the core gameplay is still intact and the game playable. It’s a far cry from the glitch that ledSims to age abnormally fastto the point that they’d even unexpectedly die of old age before a player knew what was going on.
The Sims 4is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
