With theGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Editionpreparing for release, Rockstar Games has dropped a new load of gifs from the series for fans to use and spread online. While these gifs don’t show off much ofGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy’s gameplay, the collection does include several of the most iconic scenes from the more cinematic moments in the early series.
These new gifs are now available on Giphy, under the Rockstar Games official account, to join with other sets that celebrate more of the developer’s titles includingGrand Theft Auto 5andRed Dead Redemption 2. In total, that makes for dozens of officially posted gifs of particularly high capture quality from the best versions of the games, likeGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy’s new remastered visuals.

The announcement of these gifs being dropped came on Twitter, which is one of the places where these are intended to be used for fans to discuss and share appreciation for theGrand Theft Autoseries. From there, fans are suggested to search with the #gtatrilogy for the gifs when discussing the game on social media websites connected to Giphy where the small clips are hosted. Given that the gifs are captured directly fromGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogyas well, it means that these specific clips are likely higher quality than what most fans would currently be able to grab.
Filling out the majority of these gifs are moments fromGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas’s new version, given that this is arguably one of the most highly anticipated titles in the upcoming trilogy. However, that doesn’t mean that the other two games inGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogyaren’t represented in this new series of the gifs. Most of these gifs also come with text underneath, in most cases directly quoting the scene depicted in the short clips, which make them more useful as reactions on social media.
With these new gifs joining Rockstar Games' collections on Giphy, this actually leavesGrand Theft Auto 4as the only mainline 3D title in the series that isn’t represented on the website. Hopefully if theGrand Theft Auto 4 Remasterrumorspan out, then all of the games in the series could wind up with official gif sets for fans to share when discussing or referencing the series online. For now, at leastGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogymeans has given Rockstar Games a reason to release these gifs.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Editionis set to release on November 11th, for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
