Resident Evil Villagemay be the creepiest game in the series. One fan has recreated the Six-Winged Key emblem and the Rose jars fromResident Evil Village, and they are just as unsettling as in the game.
Villageis the eighth numerical installment in the longrunning survival horror series,Resident Evil. It continues the story of Ethan Winters, who after the events ofResident Evil 7: Biohazardstarts a family and has a daughter named Rose, but in trueResident Evilfashion, that happy ending is short-lived. Ethan’s life falls apart as Rose is taken away to a isolated village, where lycans and all sorts of other monsters abound, and as the key to their plans, is separated into different jars that are each held by one of the leaders of the settlement. Perhaps the most popular of these leaders isResident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu, a vampire-like woman who enraptured the interent due to her style and stature.

Njl8719 shared to theResident Evilsubreddit his recreations of the Six-Winged Unborn key symbol and Rose jars fromVillage. Unlike former titles where the player must acquire multiple keys to progress through the game, inVillage, the player must find different parts for a single key; although functionally not being any different from one another, it makes for an aesthetically pleasing twist on the well-iterated mechanic. The Six-Winged Unborn key is the third key upgrade, and Njl8719 beautifully recreates it here, using real twigs for the outer ring, handmade feathers, and 3D printing the unborn being in the center. This key is required for beating the game, thoughResident Evil Villagehas many other hidden locationsas well.
Moving on to the vials, Njl8719 clearly studied their in-game appearance because they look identical to what can be found inVillage. From the toxic-yellow substance within the jars, to the spot-on stickers that cover the outside, the attention to detail here is very impressive. It is unknown how they created the stickers, but Njl8719 states in the comments that the jars contain resin, and considering players can inspect practically any item that comes into their inventory, it is definitely possible to get a detailed-look at those stickers. Although dividing Rose into four pieces doesn’t make a lot of sense, there are still many otherstrange things that happen inResident Evil Village.
Villageis perhaps the most confidentResident Evilgamedue to how unflinchingly over-the-top it can be, while constantly balancing scares with excitement. By expanding the game’s hub world to an entire village, there is a sense of scale that is actually captured within the game, and not just through the narrative. The symbols of the Winged Unborn and the Rose jars contribute to the constant unease the player feels, but Ethan’s banter throughout lends the game a necessary comic relief, that, not even the protagonist can believe what is happening to them.
Resident Evil Villageis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
