The upcomingResident Evil 4remake has changed its release date information on Steam, which has some fans worried that the upcoming survival-horror game could get its release date delayed. Capcom officially announced theResident Evil 4remake last year and wasted no time in confirming its July 17, 2025 release date.

There have been some changes to Capcom’sResident Evil 4remake release plans since the initial announcement, however. When Capcom first announced theResident Evil 4remake, the game was going to be a next-gen exclusive, meaning fans were only going to be able to pick it up on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. In the months since theResident Evil 4remake announcement, Capcom added PS4 to the list of platforms supporting the game. There are rumors than anXbox One version of theResident Evil 4remakecould happen as well, but nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing.

Nothing official has been announced in regard to a potentialResident Evil 4remake release date delay either, but that hasn’t stopped fans from worrying. The Steam page for theResident Evil 4remake has changed the game’s release date from June 06, 2025 to a vague “Coming Soon.” Understandably, this has led some fans to come to the conclusion that Capcom may be planning on pushing back theResident Evil 4remake release date.

However, fans shouldn’t get worried just yet. Valve recently changed how the Steam storefront handles release dates, giving publishers the option to simply list the release dates as “Coming Soon” instead of providing specific information. This has resulted in a variety of games having their release dates changed to “Coming Soon” on Steam, includingBethesda’s open world sci-fi RPGStarfield, but it doesn’t mean that fans need to worry about delays.

This isn’t the first time that a change toResident Evil 4’s Steam info has caught fans' attention. Capcom recently changed thetitle of the originalResident Evil 4gameon Steam, referring to it asResident Evil 4 (2005)to help differentiate it from the upcoming remake, which is simply going by the titleResident Evil 4when it launches in March.

There are going to be somechanges toResident Evil 4’s gameplay and storywith the remake as well, but fans will have to wait for launch to get the full scope of what all that will entail for the survival-horror classic.
