When it comes to survival games likeRaft, it’s safe to say that food is one of the most important things players will need. Although there areplenty of options for food inRaft, Silver Algae is one that players will need in order to cook some helpful dishes. Naturally, the game doesn’t tell players exactly where to find this resource, expecting them to discover it on their own, but in a world as vast as this one, that can be quite the challenge. Players wanting to know where they can find Silver Algae and what it can be used for need look no further.
Tracking the Hunger stat is very important inRaft, as if players ignore it for too long, they’ll start to feel the effects of starvation. At first, this just means slower movement speed, but eventually, it can cause the player to take damage over time and die. Foods like Silver Algae are key to preventing this unfortunate fate.

Where to Find Silver Algae
When looking for Silver Algae, there are a few locations where players have a higher chance of finding it. Silver Algae always spawns underwater and has a higher spawn rate near large islands. Additionally, Silver Algae is guaranteed to spawn underwater near shipwreck islands, plane crash islands, and the Vasagatan (the large shipwreck players find afterreaching the Radio Tower inRaft).
Silver Algae also spawns near small islands, albeit far less frequently. Ultimately, players simply need to look around underwater near these islands to get this resource. Finally, the Trading Post can sell five Silver Algae for one Trash Cube and one Trade Coin after players upgrade it to tier two.
After acquiring Silver Algae, players can use it for a variety of different things. For starters, it can be eaten uncooked to recover 10 Hunger. This is not advisable, however, as it is much more effective when cooked or processed. Players canuse the Cooking Pot and Silver Algae to make Shark Dinner, Salmon Salad, and Sushi, all of which provide far more Hunger as well as a Bonus Hunger boost. Alternatively, players can use Silver Algae at the Juicer to create a Silver Smoothie, which effectively satiates thirst instead of hunger.
The Silver Algae is very versatile since it is able to be used to create both food items for hunger and drink items for thirst, so players will want to collect any that they come across. When actively searching for this item, remember that it requires a hook to harvest, andkeep an eye out forRaft’s Trading Posts, Large Islands, and any others that spawn Silver Algae.
