It’s little secret thatAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshas become one of the most popular games of 2020, thanks in large part to providing people with a pleasant retreat from the current state of the world. Despite somepet peeves fans may have withAnimal Crossing, it seems everybody’s playing the game, including some reality television stars.
Like so many others, Bobby Berk–the interior design expert from Netflix’s reality TV seriesQueer Eye–is obsessed withmaking the perfect island, starting with the home decorating aspect of the game. He’s so in love withAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, he’s decided to give fans on Twitter some hip tips on how they can spruce up their homes.

As to be expected whenever any reality star tweets something, quite a few of the replies Berk got were jokes, with someAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfans posting pictures of intentionally weird or creepy houses. One fan posted a picture of her basement which was only lit by a few candles surrounding a doll on what appears to be a pentagram asking, “How can I make my basement more cozy and less cursed?” He did not reply to this post, but he did to other people who were looking for genuine advice, like how to brighten up a room. He also heaped praise on some very well-designed homes, such as formerGame Grumpsmember Ross O’Donovan’s “Vaporwave aesthetic mansion.”
One common piece of advice Berk keeps giving people is to stop lining the walls with furniture. Many players are guilty of this and Berk encourages people to put some décor in the center of their room. Lots of people are stuck at home with nothing to do due to the pandemic, so redecorating theirAnimal Crossinghome is a great way to pass the time. That is, so long as players have enough Bells to spend. Like certainAnimal CrossingAmiibo cards, dream homes aren’t exactly cheap.
Another great way to pass the time inAnimal Crossingis by catching and collecting bugs. Those looking to complete the insect exhibition at Blathers' museum need to act fast, though, as some bugs will be leaving the island after April ends. They won’t be leaving the game forever, but it will be quite some time before they come back. Fans who want to know whichbugs inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsto catch before April endswill want to read this guide.
