Diablo 4players can safely delete the client from the beta events without impacting their launch experience. Unlike with the Server Slam, players won’t save any time by keeping theirDiablo 4beta client installed for the game’s release.
The Server Slam,Diablo 4’sfinal beta weekend before the game’s launch, recently ended, leaving players hungry for the game’s full release. When players prepared to dive into this final free-to-play event, those who had not uninstalled the client from previous weekends were glad to find they didn’t have to reinstallDiablo 4to participate in the Server Slam.

However,Diablo 4players will have no such luck with the full release of the game. On his personal Twitter,Diabloglobal community development director Adam Fletcher recently confirmed that the Server Slam client won’t be used for the full release ofDiablo 4. Rather thanupdating the beta client ofDiablo 4, the full game will require a full re-installation of all its files. Players can safely reclaim the 80 GB required by theDiablo 4beta by uninstalling the program without impacting their experience.
Fletcher also confirmedDiablo 4will have a preload period before the game’s release. While Blizzard could not give an exact date, theDiablo 4beta client was available for download about two days before the events began. Assuming it follows this precedent, players can expect early downloads to become available on or around May 31–two days beforeDiablo 4early access begins on June 2.
Players can enter Sanctuary early by pre-purchasing theDeluxe or Ultimate Editions ofDiablo 4. Doing so will give players up to four days to playDiablo 4ahead of its official launch on June 6. Unfortunately, early access is only included in the premium editions ofDiablo 4, so players who only purchase the Standard Edition will have to wait for the full release.
In the meantime,Diablo 4recently began a lore seriesnarrated by the Horadrim Lorath Nahr that goes deeper into the history of Sanctuary, and it shared a new launch trailer with footage of the boss fight with Lilith.Diablofans who playWorld of Warcraftcan also participate in a new crossover event celebrating the new release on May 25. Players won’t have to wait long to see how the conflict between Lilith and Inarius turns out, but they have plenty to keep them busy while they wait forDiablo 4’slaunch all the same.
Diablo 4will be available June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
