APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan created their own design for a paradoxical form of the Hoothoot. With the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, players were introduced to a variety of new gimmicks.
Hoothoot is one of 112 flying Pokemon available and evolves into Noctowl at level 20. The character was introduced to the franchise in Generation 2, to which thePokemon Gold, Silver, andCrystalgames belong. Since then Hoothoot has appeared in the regional Pokedex of all games released, includingScarlet and Violet. In thePokemonanime, the character debuted in the 121st episode titled “Illusion Confusion!” Interestingly this is one of only two Pokemon owls, the other owl Pokemon being the charismatic Rowlet. With a naturally interesting look, aPokemon Scarlet and Violetfan created an amazing paradoxical form for Hoothoot.

User Franhound shared on Reddit the fanart of Hoothoot’s paradox form called Brass Goggles.Hoothoot is one ofPokemon’sregional birds, with brown feathers and a cream-colored belly, big red eyes, stubby wings, and small legs and feet. In this design, Brass Goggles has a body covered in gold metal, and eyes resembling a type of steampunk glasses. On top of its head, the character wears a top hat with a wind-up key. Instead of normal legs and feet, this paradox form of Hoothoot has springs as legs and a type of crew as feet.
Paradox Pokemon were introduced inScarlet and Violetand can be from the past or future. The author of Brass Goggles couldn’t define what this paradox Hoothoot would be, but gave the character the Steel-type, while Hoothoot is a Normal/Flying-type. At the time of this writing, the author’s post on thePokemonsubreddit has gained over 8000 upvotes and over 200 comments, with praise and thoughts on character stats. Paradox Pokemon have inspired the already creativePokemoncommunity, and the result has been equally interesting with ideas like theParadox Torkoal created by another fan.
Pokemonof the Flying-type have unanswered questionsthat make this type quite intriguing. Add this to the Paradox Pokemon, and the franchise has the potential to generate monsters with really cool stories. Brass Goggles is a great example of a paradox form with clever creative design.
