Thanks to work of artistic fans,Pokemon’s Team Rocket has crossed over withAmong Usin an adorable way. Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet get in on the intergalactic action ofAmong Usthanks to some new images posted online last week.

AlthoughAmong Usrewards stealthy imposters with a clear path to victory, it’s often easy forimposters to mess up and expose themselves. Fans of thePokemonanime know that Team Rocket’s Jessie and James try and fail at stealth over and over in a similar way. Although their goal is usually just to steal a single Pikachu from Ash Ketchum, Jessie and James approach this task with gusto, frequently dawning disguises to get close.

Twitter user Cruz02Art envisions Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet as different characters fromAmong Us. The color choices for their suits and characters make sense, and the art details how each of the four would behave in an actual game ofAmong Us. Amusingly, the only characters who seem to beeffective task-completing crewmatesare James and Wobbuffet. Part of this may have to do with the fact Wobbuffet cannot speak human languages, making it easy to keep a low profile.

Some may be surprised by the decision to clarify that James is a superbAmong Usplayer. However, this shouldn’t be too shocking. Fans often imagine Jessie and James as bumbling and ineffective, but ingames likePokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!,Jessie and James are powerful foes and legitimate threats.

The fan art doesn’t bring Giovanni into the mix. In both the anime and the games, the Team Rocket head is a sadistic and highly-competent criminal who has no problem intimidating others into getting what he wants. Thus, it’s not hard to see him dominatingAmong Usas an imposter. Still, given the game version of Giovanni was most recently seen forming adimension-hopping gang known as Team Rainbow Rocket, he presumably has bigger aspirations.

As fun as it might be to add toAmong Us, the game provides more backstory than many might believe. Althoughin-gameAmong Uscharacter loreis scarce, it suggests that the red player character may be the canon imposter, and that some of the other characters are related. Few people would likely use this as a way to discourage clever character crossovers, but it suggests that the game might already have a compelling story beneath the surface.

Among Usis available now on Mobile and PC.
