Reddit user TueboEmu315 shared their unique usage for the new Party Play function on the officialPokemon GOsub-reddit. The user criticizes the lackluster rewards offered byPokemon GO’s Party Play systemwhile explaining its use as a GPS function to find their husband within a store. Using the Party Play function will cause other members of a player’s party to appear on the in-game map, making them easier to find in large stores like Wal-Mart or Target. The user did also point that players could opt out of the GPS display function.

Many fans in the comments of the post praised the unique idea from the poster, finding an alternative use for the party-focused system. Some fans suggested the GPS system would simply show themselves waiting in the car outside the store, which the user pointed out that it could be an easy way to find where they parked. The new Party-focused function fromPokemon GOhas not been free of criticism, however, with many players feeling the system’s addition has been mediocre in terms of rewards and its hard time limit.

Party Play serves as the most recent example of several new features added toPokemon GOthroughout 2023. Niantic officiallyadded the long-rumored Routes system toPokemon GOearlier this year, allowing players to record theirPokemon GOpaths and offering increased EXP and rewards.Pokemon GOalso introduced the first Pokemon fromPokemon Scarlet and Violetthis year, slowly adding more creatures from the Paldea region. While not every addition is a hit with fans,Pokemon GOhas continued to innovate and add more features to the beloved mobile game.
