There are many possible Pokemon that players can encounter in raids inPokemon GO, but one of the currently available Pokemon for raids is the pure ice-type, Cryogonal. As this Pokemon is through a tier 3 raid, it would be incredibly difficult to take down alone, but it is not impossible.

Players don’t have to always worry about dealing with raids alone however, due toPokemon GO’s recent inclusion of remote raid passes. This allows players to participate in raids while not needing to be directly nearby the raid site.

However, remote raid passes don’t guarantee that there will be other players to help with every raid. In cases like that, players may have to resort to challenging this chilling Pokemon completely solo.

With Cryogonal being a pure ice-type, this Pokemon has quite a few weaknesses. These are:

Keeping this in mind, players will want to use strong Pokemon with a lot of CP using these moves to quickly whittle down Cryogonal’s health before the time runs out. In fact, time is the most important factor in this raid, as it’s more likely that time will run out before players have their party wiped.

Manyplayers recommend Metagrossas one of the Pokemon to bring due to the move Meteor Mash. This steel-type move alongside the power of Metagross has a STAB boost is perfect for damaging Cryogonal. Other players have reported Pokemon like Machamp, Blaziken, Charizard, and Lucario being great helps in the fight.

Raids such as this one are also perfect opportunities to use caught legendary Pokemon. However, players should avoid using any legendary dragon-types due to dragon-type Pokemon having a weakness against ice-type moves. Legendary Pokemon such as Entei and Heatran have a lot of potential to help take down Cryogonal while players are forced to battle solo.

Cryogonal is a lesser knownPokemon from the fifth generationofPokemon, however some may know it from its creepy entry in the Pokedex. This entry details how it consumes its prey after freezing it alive at -148° F/ -100° C.

Pokemon GOis available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
