Summary
A prolificPokemonfan has just given Raikou a new future Paradox form inspired by the franchise’s latest games. Ever since the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, severalPokemon fans have been designing unique Paradox forms, and this one is a perfect example of how good-looking they can be.
Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC The Teal Mask recently introduced a few Pokemon, including anofficial Paradox form for Raikou, a popular Legendary creature from the second generation. Raikou’s new form caused quite a commotion, as not many fans expected to see it inspired by a plesiosaurus with a gigantic giraffe-like neck. Curiously, this official version was pretty similar to one that a fan created back in March, and it seems to have inspired the community to give Raikou more alternative forms.

Now, onePokemon Scarlet and Violetfan called El-psy-congroo-01 decided to share their own take on Raikou. This future version of Raikou is called Iron Sabre, and it’s an Electric/Psychic-type with a special ability called Quark Drive, which boosts its power in certain kinds of terrain. Iron Sabre looks really good, as it maintains enough similarities to Raikou’s original design at the same time that it has a futuristic look with some parts of it seemingly made of metal. Also, the design changes Raikou’s original purple hair for a stunning pink that looks like it’s glowing. There’s also a shiny version of the creature, which changes the yellow colors to gray, which makes the Pokemon resemble a metallic body even more.
The overall reception of the project was pretty good, with most fans saying that they really liked it, and some even joking that they were disappointed it didn’t have the giraffe-like look of the new official design. This is not the first time that El-psy-congroo-01 has shared alternative versions of Pokemon with the community, as this prolific artist has made dozens of unique takes on Pokemon so far. Recently, for instance, the artist designed apast Paradox form for Lugiathat was inspired by a plesiosaurus.
El-psy-congroo-01’s Raikou was not the first time that afan decided to give Raikou a Paradox form. A few months ago, another fan gave the tiger-like Pokemon a past form instead, turning Raikou into a form based on an ankylosaurus by making it look shorter and bulkier, with its hair becoming like a piece of armor. Hopefully, the upcoming DLCs forPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill inspire even more fans to keep making cool fan art.
