A talentedPokemonfan called Endifi has recently shared a human version of Smoochum on social media. According to Endifi, the creation of this design was largely inspired by their trip to Hawaii, and it shows. This new version of Smoochum retains similar colors and shapes to the baby Pokemon it’s inspired by, but it turns the creature into a lovely hula dancer. While the human Smoochum’s hair and eyes are almost the same as the original, the new design uses a pink skirt, and yellow shirt, and has a Hawaiian flower necklace to complete its visual.
This is not the first time that Endifi has turned Pokemon into humans, as the creator has devised several alternative versions for creatures of the first two generations of the franchise before. Previously, the fan artist has worked on designs including Tyrogue, Stantler, Porygon 2, and Smeargle, for example. In the human Smeargle fan art, Endifi keeps the character’s most iconic features, such as its color scheme, head’s shape, and tail, but redesigns it completely, turning the Pokemon into a human painter with a gray coat that still manages to be recognizable as Smeargle by any fan.
Fans of adorable Pokemon fan art may also be interested in the work of Biifolio, another talented fan artist who turned these creatures into humans, but with a different take on the concept. Biifoliotransformed Pokemon into iconic anime magical girlswith several unique designs. Their latest work includes fusions of Jiggypuff with Minako Aino fromSailor Moon, Spoink with Kassie Carlen fromSuper Pig, and Vulpix with Hikaru Shidou fromMagic Knight Rayearth, for instance. In all cases, the results were some pretty cute art that looked rather unique, as it fused characteristics from the creatures and the female anime characters in an interesting way.
