The Life Orb is one of the best orbs players can use on their Pokemon, but it does require them to be a little more forward-thinking and strategic in their moves. A Life Orb gives the holder’s moves a pretty considerable power boost, but it takes away HP each time the user performs a damaging move. It is one of thebest held items in the Pokémon games, but should be used carefully.
For a Pokemon like Palkia that typically has a lot of power in their moves, this can be dangerous to do. Players should make sure that they understand how much health they could lose if performing a particular move, as this can be the difference between losing or winning a battle.
6Choice Specs
The Choice Specs were introduced in Generation IV, and are a very useful handheld item for Palkia. The Choice Specs increase the holder’s Special Attack stat, which plays in nicely with Palkia as it typically deals Special attacks rather than Physical.

However, players can get around this by switching out Palkia for a different Pokemon and then switching their legendary back in the following turn.
4Haban Berry
While the Haban Berry isn’t as useful to Palkia as other berries available, it can act as a decent handheld item while players are searching for more suitable items to use. The Haban berry weakens the damage done to the holder by a super-effective Dragon-type move. The Haban is one of thebest berries inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl.
Because of Palkia’s weakness to Dragon, this Berry can be quite helpful. However, players should look to use Haban when coming against opponents which typically run strong Dragon-type Pokémon only, and look to replace this item with something more suitable when they can.
3Roseli Berry
The Roseli berry halves the power of a super-effective Fairy move one-time, somethingplayers may not know berriescould do, which can be very useful for Palkia. Palkia, being a Dragon-type has a weakness against Fairy, and the Roseli berry can do a lot of work in mitigating this weakness, which only further increases Palkia’s overall competency in a battle.

Roseli berries are easy to find inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, so players shouldn’t have too much trouble locating one to get Palkia to carry. The Roseli berry is one of the best items available for Palkia, but players should look to replace it when they can with a Lustrous Orb.
2Wide Lens
While the Wide Lens is useful for many Pokémon, it can be especially useful for players using Palkia. The Wide Lens grants a 10% extra accuracy boost, which can be useful for Pokémon that have hard-hitting moves with low accuracy.
Palkia’s two best Same-Type-Attack-Bonus moves, Spacial Rend and Hydro Pump, are taken to nearly 100% accuracy when used while Palkia holds a Wide Lens. This item can give players an edge in a battle simply through the offensive capabilities Palkia has.
1Lustrous Orb
The Lustrous Orb is the best held item for Palkia available inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl. It’s a Palkia-specific item that boosts Dragon andWater-type moves, giving Palkia great offensive capabilities in battles.
Introduced in Generation 4, players will obtain the Lustrous Orb after defeating Palkia at the Spear Pillar, which they will come across just by progressing through the story. While it is the best item for Palkia inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, it has also shown up in other Pokémon games such asPokémon Shield.
