Summary
WithOne Piecenow within its final saga stated by Eiichiro Oda himself, tension and anticipation have been building in the manga. From introductions of new and important characters, pivotal plot points being revealed, tomany mysteriesnow being uncovered, it suggests the story will go out in a blaze of glory.
Given the proceedings in the currentEgghead Island arcacross the entireOne Pieceworld, many of the events appear as though they may play an integral role in prompting a monumental final showdown with Pirates, Marines, Revolutionary Army, and potentially even the Gorosei all in the mix.

5Death Or Capture Of Vegapunk
With Kizaru set on his mission of eliminating Dr. Vegapunk at the orders of the World Government, Luffy along with the rest of the Straw Hats attempt to hold off all threats and escape Egghead Island. Considering the direction in which the aftermath of Wano has led fellow pirates inEustass Kid and Trafalgar Lawin their complete defeats and capitulation, it has led some fans to believe that something similar may be next for the Straw Hats.
While it is unlikely to occur as it may undermine the progress made throughout Wano in the eyes of fans, the possibility of failure is still at hand as escaping both Kizaru and Saturn’s clutches will prove to be a tough task, especially since the consequences of prolonged Gear 5th usage are yet to be fully revealed. If Vegapunk is eliminated, it could very well spark action from Luffy and the Straw Hats themselves, or the Revolutionary Army considering Monkey D. Dragon’s affiliation with the scientist.
4Kuma’s Potential Death
Sticking withChapter 1092of the manga, Kuma’s desperate attempt at an escape in Mariejois and running into Akainu appears to be leading to his demise. Given how brutal, unforgiving, and ruthless Fleet Admiral Akainu is, fans can expect to see the same applied throughout this current encounter with him already inflicting heavy damage, taking off half of his face.
With Kuma already known to be a part of the Revolutionary Army along with his incredibly close relationship with Monkey D. Dragon and Sabo, his death at the hands of Akainu could very well open up the floodgates of war, finally setting off the Revolutionaries to fully retaliate, which may also include Luffy finally meeting and joining hands with his father.
3Death Of A Tenryuubito/Celestial Dragon
Despite there being far more crucial characters in the world ofOne Pieceat this current stage of the story, there is no denying how much of a threat comes in line when a Celestial Dragon is harmed. Back in the pre-time skip phase of the story inthe Sabaody Archipelago arc, this was the single reason why the Straw Hats were split up for two years after Luffy attacked a Tenryuubito, leading to Kizaru’s pursuit of the beloved characters.
While times are certainly different in the story, especially when it comes down to how formidable the Straw Hats are now, especially Luffy and Zoro, the death of a Celestial Dragon at the hands of Pirates or another non-World Government affiliated group could spark outrage from the World Government, potentially leading to a reason for war.
2Exposure Of Imu
Unknown to the rest of theOne Pieceworld, is the one leader above all, Imu Sama. In the eyes of citizens, Pirates, and all else, theGorosei are seen as the leaders of the world, setting laws and orders for the Fleet Admiral and other Admirals, but Imu remains one of the biggest mysteries in the story.
With Nefertari Cobra’s death deriving from seeing Imu at the hands of the Gorosei, and Sabo’s survival, it could very well lead to Imu’s potential exposure to the rest of the world, and this would open the doors for war with all parties involved. Since the Revolutionary Army is on the verge of losing Kuma and already plans to combat the World Government, this is a huge factor that could lead in their favor, as a reveal of a leader would spark reactions from everyone.
1Straw Hats Find The One Piece
A long-running theory in the aspect ofOne Pieceedging closer toward its ending is that theStraw Hats will reach Laugh Talebefore fans will see the story’s final panel. If there is one thing that the World Government does not want and vehemently wishes to prevent, is anybody managing to claim the One Piece, as this is likely to reveal everything kept in secret, most importantly, everything about the Void Century.
As there is certain to be a conflict between Yonkos and other Pirates in the attempt to reach Laugh Tale, there is no doubt that once Luffy becomes King of the Pirates, the World Government will be much more adamant about hunting him down and eliminating him in the same way they intended with Gol D. Roger in the old era. With there still no clue as to what the One Piece really is, fans could be set for a surprise within its identity, and a spectacular war to follow up.
