Overwatchhas revealed one of the many new skins that will be available in its upcoming Archives 2021 event. This one is for everybody’s favoriteOverwatchsniper, Widowmaker.

The Archives event is an annual event tocommemorateOverwatch’s releaseback in 2016, and the 2021 celebration starts tomorrow. The event brings with it theOverwatchArchives, co-op multiplayer missions that each feature a team of four heroes for players to play through against AI enemies. The missions have been a big hit with fans in the past and could serve as a possible hint at what players should expect fromOverwatch 2’s story missions.

The Archives 2021 event brings with it,like everyOverwatchevent does, a selection of new skins that players can unlock by earning timed loot boxes during the event. In a tweet from the officialOverwatchTwitter, one of those skins for Widowmaker has been revealed ahead of the event. The skin highlights Widowmaker’s French origins and is heavily based on a Mousquetaire, a French Muskateer that most will know from the novelThe Three Musketeersby Alexandre Dumas.

The skin has a lot of flair to it and stands out from Widowmaker’s other looks due to its classic French style.Overwatchtends to have a strong selection of skinsto earn from each event, and this one is no exception. Luckily, any players who are new to the game, or who missed skins available from the Archives event in the past, can still earn them from this year’s Archives event loot boxes as well as all of the new ones from this year, which should all be revealed when the Archives 2021 event launches tomorrow.

As detailed as Widowmaker’s Mousquetaire skin is, some fans have already started expressing frustration with the popular character getting another skin when she has already received so many. WhenOverwatchskins are released, some fans say there is preferential treatment towards heroes like Widowmaker, Genji, Tracer, and D.Va that get new skins more frequently than other heroes such as Ashe, Baptiste, Wrecking Ball, or Orisa.

While all of these heroes have gotten event skins, and they are of similar quality to those of the other heroes, the frequency that they get them seems to be quite a bit lower than more popular heroes, which is obviously frustrating for players who mainly play the heroes that feel left out of the events by having no skins for players to try and obtain.

Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
