On Reddit, Kiriko player Leading_Ad_9197 has shared a chaotic clip involving the use of Kiriko’s Swift Step. In the short video, Kiriko comes out of their spawn during overtime on the Esperanca Push map. With their team in possession of the lead and theOverwatch 2Push robot, the Kiriko player spots their Widowmaker who’s in need of health in the flank building ahead. Upon teleporting to the Widow, the Kiriko player immediately gets bombarded with a full barrage of missiles at point-blank range from the opposing Pharah’s ultimate, who was also in the room seemingly hunting the Widow. Both Widowmaker and Kiriko perish in the blink of an eye.

It’s quite strange that the Pharah would blow their whole ultimate on a low-health Widowmaker and Kiriko, no less on the ground in a small flank room.Pharah’s ultimate is best used up in the airlooking down from behind the enemy line. As one commenter under the post humorously put it, this seemed personal. The Kiriko player quickly flashed the stat board in the clip, showing that the Widowmaker had a solid match of 16 kills, while the opposing Pharah had only five kills and nine deaths. With that in mind, this bizarre Pharah play seems like one of frustration at the Widowmaker player, especially since the Pharah should’ve been booking it back toward the robot to keep their team alive during overtime rather than chasing after the low-health Widowmaker in the flank room. It’s highly likely that the Widowmaker caused a lot of grief for the Pharah over the course of the match, leading to the explosive beef in overtime.

When Will Overwatch 2 Get Its Next New Hero?

Season 9 ofOverwatch 2has given Pharah a minor rework, providing her more speed and maneuverability in the air while limiting her fuel recharge to when she’s on the ground. Time will tell whether these changes will stick in the long run. Season 10 is expected to finally bring a new DPS hero to the roster; players should keep an eye out for any teases or details through March heading toward April, which is when the next season will likely debut.
