AnOverwatch 2gamer has shared a video showing the impressive strength of the assist when throwing Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade during battle. While the ability is meant to give theOverwatch 2DPS heroa potential combo opportunity with his Peacekeeper revolver to help pick up some eliminations, this recent clip reveals that it might be too easy to land the grenade on potential targets.

WhileCassidy received several changes when transitioning toOverwatch 2, his Magnetic Grenade seems to be gaining the most attention from the community. Replacing Flashbang from the originalOverwatch, this new ability functions as a sticky grenade that can attach to opponents when thrown and causes 131 total damage when detonated. However, some players think that the ability too easily homes in on opponents and could use more fine-tuning.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as sammy51 captured a moment inOverwatch 2that they claimed revealed that the assist when throwing Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade is too generous. The brief clip took place on the Sanctuary section of the Busan map and watched the perspective of the Cassidy player. In a split-second play, Cassidy threw his Magnetic Grenade toward an enemy Tracer. While Tracer managed to blink away from the oncoming grenade, what happened next likely took many by surprise. Incredibly, the grenade swerved hard to the left to track the blinking Tracer, ultimately connecting to its intended target. While she escaped using Recall, the clip showed how generous the assist was for the Magentic Grenade.

Unsurprisingly, many members of theOverwatch 2community on Reddit had something to say about this example of the effectiveness of Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade. In only a few days, the Reddit post has gained more than 2.2K upvotes, with many players talking negatively about the ability. For example, one user noted that they often got stuck by the grenade whenplaying as Genji inOverwatch 2. In addition, some players pointed out how much easier it is to land a Magnetic Grenade than an Ana Biotic Grenade. Furthermore, sammy51, who turned out to be the Tracer player in the video, offered some of their own thoughts on the ability in the comments section. “i dodged this. i saw it coming and i dodged it. with flash i would have avoided it,” they said.

While this clip showcasing the assist of Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade is notable, it is far from the only example on the internet of the effectiveness of the ability. In fact, theOverwatch 2community has debated the power of Magnetic Grenadefor months. However, only time will tell if the developers choose to nerf the ability in a future update.

Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
