Funding is one of the most challenging barriers to overcome when developing a video game for indie developers. Indie games are also crucial to the cultural and technological landscape of the video game industry, as indie video game developers use their creativity to bring diverse games that AAA studios don’t always deliver, such asAmong Us. Indiedeveloper Innersloth understands this barrierfacing many of these indie developers, especially single-dev studios, and has created a fund aimed at financing indie studios with games in development.
Innersloth made the announcement at Summer Game Fest 2024, with Innersloth’s CEO Forest Willard and Communications Officer Victoria Tran. Dubbed Outersloth, the announcement came alongside a trailer detailing the motivations behind Outersloth, and some of the indie games the fund has already helped see through to launch. Inspired by the success ofAmong Us, the team at Innersloth wanted to see their success replicated in other indie projects.

Innersloth’s Commitment to the Future of Gaming
Summer Game Fest 2024 showcased many games by indie developers. These indie games range in genre from platformers to horror games and shooters. Indie games diversify the industry, and the more developers who are given the chance to bring their ideas to life, the better the industry will become.
Innersloth’s decision to uplift other developers to have a better chance at finding thesameAmong Ussuccessis exactly the kind of attitude the gaming industry needs to encourage. Video game development, much like the hobby, is about community and working with others, and helping others achieve their dreams is what’s going to make the future of the video game industry a very positive one.
