Not many IPs can rivalStar Warswhen it comes to lore and content output. Spanning almost every kind of media imaginable,Star Warshas been a dominant cultural force for four-and-a-half decades, and continues to grow even now. While most people will be familiar with the films, a lot of the storytelling and exploration of the IP’s history took place in novels and comics known as the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Disney’s takeover of the property may have rendered this material non-canonical, but the franchise continues to borrow from it.
There is still a rich history ofStar Warslore to delve into, and Disney continues to add to the established canon through TV shows, comics, books, films, and video games. While the long list of titles already explores a multitude of different planets, there are still a variety of locations that video games have barely touched upon. With the upcomingStar Wars Eclipseset to explore the High Republic era, fans are wondering what other planets might feature in Quantic Dream’s title, as well as inevitable future releases.

Star Wars Planets With Mysteries To Unlock
Some planets have featured regularly in video games, like Hoth or the fan-favorite Tatooine - which is not only a prominent location in the films, but also appears inStar Wars Battlefrontand its sequel, as well as mobile games likeStar Wars: Force ArenaandStar Wars: Commander. Other planets are merely mentioned in passing. TheStar Warsuniverse is bursting with planets of all shapes and sizes, and there are many that players would benefit from exploring.
One that could be interesting is Yoda’s homeworld. While some may think thatDagobah - the swamp-infested and Force-rich planetwhere Luke first meets the Jedi Master - is Yoda’s home planet, they would be mistaken. Very few of Yoda’s species feature in theStar Warsfranchise, and it has never been confirmed what their race is called, let alone where they hail from. Exploring Yoda’s homeworld would be exciting for anyStar Warsfan, and the chance to learn more about his mysterious, Force-sensitive species would be a great angle for a game.
Star Wars' galaxy is also made up of several regions, like the Core, the Inner and Outer Rim, Wild Space, and the Unknown Regions. These areas offer lots of fascinating planets with their own tumultuous and sometimes secretive histories. The Unknown Regions in particular have a few key locations such asAhch-To, the birthplace of the Jedi Orderand the planet Luke goes into exile on after the destruction of his Jedi temple. While most of the planet is covered in ocean, its scattered archipelagos provide some chances to explore, and the deep significance this planet holds inStar Warslore would make it irresistible to fans.
Histories To Explore Across the Star Wars Galaxy
One world which has been significant throughoutStar Wars’galactic history, but has yet to feature in any video game, is the world of Cato Neimoidia. It can be glimpsed briefly during the montage ofJedi slaughter inRevenge of the Sith, with its distinctive bridge cities suspended between clifftops. It’s one of the resource-rich colony worlds and home to the Neimoidians who feature prominently in the prequel films. In addition to its unique and interesting architecture, it has a long history of political intrigue and association with both the Trade Federation and Separatist Alliance.
Although technically a moon and not a planet, Jedha would be a great location to feature in a game. With its historical and religious significance to the Jedi, it would definitely have more than a few secrets for players to discover. It is also rich in kyber crystals - a materialintegral to the construction of lightsabers- and is littered with beautifully haunting Jedi ruins inRogue One. Although the Holy City is later destroyed, an exploration of its early history could be a good opportunity to learn more about the Jedi Order during its heyday.
But Jedi aren’t the be-all and end-all of theStar Warsuniverse. It is a vast canon home to many species and characters, andStar Warsgames have focused on the Jedi Order a lot as is. Planets that would give players the chance to investigate other elements ofStar Warssocieties and witness other factions that make up the diverse world would be a welcome change. Cantonica is a desert plant in the galaxy’s Outer Rim Territories, and itsglittering city of Canto Bightis a popular destination for some of the wealthiest interstellar inhabitants. Other than a few planets, a lot of theStar Warssettings are rundown and gritty, so Cantonica’s relative luxury is a nice contrast.

Star Wars Eclipse’s Possible Locations
Not much is known aboutthe upcomingStar Wars Eclipse, but players do know that it will be taking place during the High Republic Era. This offers some new and interesting planets for the game to explore, although it’s a safe bet that Core worlds like Coruscant will feature. While the Republic slowly grew to encompass the Mid-Rim, tensions remained between the Core and the outer regions, which could be explored inStar Wars Eclipseand take players to planets like Trandosha or Ruusan.
There’s also a theory that the mysterious grey aliens featured inStar Wars Eclipse’s first trailer could be the elusive Grysk, a warlike and nomadic species that occupied part of the Unknown Regions. Although it may be unlikely, if this species is the Grysk, it could be an opportunity for the game to feature more of this unchartered region and show off the Grysk homeworld that even Grand Admiral Thrawn couldn’t locate.
