The long-awaited season finale forHawkeyeis quickly approaching and Marvel Studios has revealed the final poster that offers a look at all cast members that have been present within the narrative thus far. Naturally, specific faces immediately come to the forefront, but a glaring absence is very much noticeable.

Based on what audiences have seen by now, the focus ofHawkeyeplaces Clint Barton and Kate Bishop center stage. The two became intertwined after Bishop donned the Ronin suit, which carries the weight of enemies that Clint accumulated since putting on the outfit in 2019’sAvengers: Endgame. The series shows the scorched path of the Ronin and the destructive blow it dealt with Echo’s life, fueling her desire to see the vigilantle extinguished. However, Echo’s nefarious uncle orchestrates the chaos Clint and Kate face behind the scenes throughout the narrative. Things took a turn within the series' fourth episode when Yelena Belova appeared, indicating that someone had hired a black widow assassin to execute Clint for supposed wrongdoing. During the penultimate episode, fireworks exploded when the studio revealed that the orchestrator of chaos was none other thanthe Kingpin himself.

The poster centers around the theme of archery, a common element within most of the bow-wielding heroes' promotional images. At the bullseye’s center lies every critical cast member who has played a significant role up to now. Naturally,Clint Barton and Kate Bishophold the most prominent position as the two leading protagonists. The second-largest images belong to Echo and Yelena, which hints at a more extensive role from the two within the season finale. The last episode disclosed that Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop, hired Yelena to neutralize Clint in an apparent partnership with the heinous Kingpin. Her image carries the most weight among the others left, but they all will play an essential part in this season’s exciting finish.

The glaring absence from this poster is noticeably the Kingpin, whose presence became acknowledged in the series previous episode.Vincent D’Onofrio announced his returnas the iconic villain within a throwback tweet after the episode’s release, but questions still linger around the character making a physical appearance. The final trailer for the series didn’t help to cure anticipation either but instead fueled more assumptions, as a character appeared wielding a weapon similar to one associated with the villain. Hopefully, things will come full circle like the bullseye on an archery target, but Marvel Studios is known to place breadcrumbs in more than one place.

Spider-Man: No Way Homedeliveredthe introduction of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, Daredevil, back into the MCU, hinting at the possibility of Kingpin’s highly speculated appearance. During the promotional rollout of the box office crushing film, the audience saw glimpses of familiar elements rooted withinHawkeye, such as theRogers: The Musicalbillboards that made an appearance in the first episode of the series. Such connections can lead one down many avenues, pushing some even to predict that Peter Parker himself may make an appearance in theHawkeyeseason finale. Marvel Studios has laid the foundation of possibilities, but audiences must wait to see what new roads forge in the final episode.

TheHawkeyeseaon finale will arrive on December 22nd, 2021, on Disney Plus.
