Apex Legendsplayers have discovered a new bug related to the Sentinel, allowing them to charge up the weapon for free. While theSentinel has experienced bugs previously inApex Legends, this latest one makes the weapon much more effective in skirmishes in the battle royale.
With players in the middle ofSeason 15 ofApex Legends, Respawn Entertainment has released the Spellbound Collection Event. While this new update adds a bunch of new cosmetics, the Control LTM, and private matches for all players, it also comes with several balance changes. Among the changes, the developer has reduced the number of shield cells needed to charge the Sentinel from two to one. Even though this alteration aimed to buff the Sentinel, another unintended change was made to the gun, which might have made it overpowered.

Following the release of the new Spellbound Collection Event inApex Legends, players discovered that the Sentinel could be charged for free, meaning that no shield cells were necessary to Energize the sniper. This is a significant change since charging the sniper allows it to fire Amped rounds that deal considerably more damage. However, it should be noted that in order to utilize the free Sentinel charge, players must have a gold body shield equipped.
This glitch was even illustrated in a Reddit post shared by flapjack626. In the video, the player grabbed a gold body shield and nothing else from the floor loot in the Firing Range. They then picked up a Sentinel from the nearby gun rack and proceeded to charge the weapon with no shield cells in their inventory. After the gun was energized, they took several shots at one of the test dummies, revealing that the Amped mechanic worked as intended.
Unsurprisingly, this latest Sentinel glitch has caught the attention of numerousmembers of theApex Legendscommunity. The post from flapjack626 already has over 1K upvotes, with many talking about the implications of this bug. For example, some gamers believed that this bug could mean that Respawn Entertainment might temporarily remove the gun from the game. In addition, some questioned whether the bug existed outside the Firing Range. Following these queries, other users responded by claiming they had tested it in the battle royale with the same results.
It will be interesting to see how the developer responds to this latest Sentinel glitch. Since the patch notes mention nothing of charging the weapon for free, it seems to be an unintended bug that has arrived with the update. And while some gamers want buffs for the gun, this could be taking things too far. However, it remains to be seen when a fix is made since Respawn Entertainment has been dealing with other issues, such as unstable servers following the release of theSpellbound Collection Event inApex Legends.
