The following contains spoilers for Episode 1 of My Hero Academia Season 6, “A Quiet Beginning,” now streaming onCrunchyroll.
When fans last saw Deku and the gang inMy Hero Academia, the Paranormal Liberation Front was beginning to make a great deal of momentum as the original Destro supporters merged with the League of Villains to create an organized crime conglomeration.

Their new leader, Tomura Shigaraki was in the process of making some personal developments of his own, adding more potency to his punches with the help of Daruma Ujiko (aka Garaki Kyūdai) and a four-month timer on the clock. Thankfully, Hawks' cloak-and-dagger operation managed to leak valuable information to the Heroes, and the storyline of Season 6 kicks off shortly after Shigaraki’s acquisition of the Meta Liberation Army.

Secret Agent Man
Essentially, Hawks is holding the livelihood of all Heroes in the palm of his hand, as this crimson-winged charmer is solely responsible for uncovering vital details inThe Paranormal Liberation Front’splans. Working as a double agent has undoubtedly taken its toll on the No. 2 Hero but he appears to have gathered some villainous admirers, with Twice proudly leading the pack. He has slowly and carefully gathered enough info to pinpoint the precise location of the nefarious Dr. Ujiko’s base of operations and enough details about their game plan, and the time has finally come to take action.
Apart from planning their world domination, Shigaraki has not left The Paranormal Liberation Front with very many rules to abide by while their leader is in hibernation, besidesgiving his lieutenants some authority. In honor of Liberation, it is up to each of them to group themselves up according to their needs, and the following regiments have been established so far:

Dabi and Geten
Himiko and Skeptic

Mr. Compress and Spinner
Vanguard Action Support
The Plan of Action
In order to effectively revolutionize society’s structure, The Paranormal Liberation Front intends to attack every major Japanese city simultaneously to eliminate the chances of valiant stragglers regrouping for a counter-attack. Even if the Heroes are aware of when and where the onslaught is due to take place, they would ultimately be completely overwhelmed by the hundred thousand plusDestro supporting villains (and that’s excluding Jin Bubaigawara’s personal army). Their solution? To make the first move and hit them where it hurts, targeting the soft squishy parts to topple the system. The Heroes have prioritized Ujiko as their main mark, as this (presumably) Quirkless mastermind is essential tofuel All For One’santitotalitarianism.
The Hospital Invasion
Every able body has prepared for this war and, thanks to some admirable detective work, Jaku Hospital now finds itself surrounded. As to be expected, the Heroes exhibit extreme precautions with their strategy, particularly considering how many students are involved in this life-or-death situation.Team Endeavor, made upof pro-Heroes and police forces, is responsible for finding Ujiko and the morgue’s secret laboratory within the hospital, hopefully putting an end to Nomu creations (and potentially, much more.) Even Re-Destro said himself that the villains are significantly inferior without their zombie warriors.

On the other hand, Team Edge Shot’s goal is to assume control over the Paranormal Front’s headquarters, presumed to be situated within Gunga Mountain Villa. The timing is perfect considering that all the lieutenants are expected to be gathered in one spot; ripe for the picking. Fully aware of the vast numbers they have to face, most of the wide-ranged Heroes form the frontline to eliminate the bulk of the menacing forces. Out of the UA High School students, only Kaminari and Kinoko are part of the first wave of attacks (much to Bakugo’s dismay), while those with greater skills in close combat form the rear. Several smaller groups will offer support to both parties while maintaining the safety of any civilians caught in the crossfire and hopefully lowering the number of casualties. The actual fighting, however, has yet to begin.
The Big Reveal
It doesn’t take long for Team Endeavor to track Ujiko down and overpower him, but when Eraser Head makes eye contact, the unexpected happens. Althoughofficially reported as Quirkless, it was safestnotto assume that the mad scientist hadn’t tried his gene-enhancing tricks on himself, and it becomes evident that Ujiko is substantially older than he appears. The deception amplifies further when they realize that the man isn’t Ujiko at all, but simply one of Twice’s Duplicates. Suddenly, a swarm of sub-par Nomus overwhelms the hospital; not as brutally overpowered as the ones viewers are used to, but they make up for that with sheer numbers.
Nevertheless, Mirko still manages to find the secret laboratory just in time, which is stockpiled with different Quirks and an army of dormant Nomus in different stages of development. Ujiko iscarefully cultivating Shigaraki’s transformation, which has one month left on the clock until completion. The devilish bunny has amazing luck when she squishes the tiny warping Nemu to a pulp, eliminating Ujiko’s best (and likely, only) means of escape. It’s now up to the No. 5 Hero to capture the psychopathic surgeon, although she seems more than happy to oblige.

Hopefully, Deku and the gang will have a chance to shine in episode 2, seeing as they have been absent from the spotlight for some time now (sure, the OVAs were fun, however, insignificant to the overall narrative.) However, it seems the storyline will continue to focus on the events at the hospital as Team Endeavor’s search-and-destroy operation gets very (ahem)heatedas the hoard of Nomus intensifies. Unfortunately for the Rabbit Hero, the Big Guns will awaken in “Mirko, the No.5 Hero,” and it seems only Crest is close enough to offer her any assistance.
