However, Warner Bros.‘MultiVersuswas a success before it was even officially released, and its Steam launch was reportedly the most successful of any WB Games title.MultiVersusalready features a diverse roster taken from WB franchises, includingBatman,Scooby-Doo,Looney Tunes,Game of Thrones, and more. However, Warner Bros. still has plenty more IP to pull from, and the developer had already announced plans to introduce additional characters. According to AisulMV, a recentMultiVersusupdate added a Matrix Code particle animation and texture to the game. They shared both on Twitter, along with a newly added heart texture. None of these currently appear anywhere in the game, signaling that developers are laying the groundwork for newMatrixcontent coming relatively soon.
Unfortunately, the mined data doesn’t indicate which characters are coming or whether the upcoming DLC will also include anyMatrix-inspired stages. Out ofThe Matrix’s cast, the series’ protagonist Neo is probably the most likely candidate, and his skills seem well-suited to a fighting game likeMultiVersus. Antagonist Agent Smith also seems likely, though other main characters like Trinity and Morpheus may not be off the table. However, until someone reveals more information, educated guesses may be the best anyone can do.
MultiVersusso far incorporates a variety of characters from a range of different Warner Bros. franchises. These include Finn and Jake fromAdventure Time, Shaggy andVelma fromScooby-Doo, and Steven and Garnet fromSteven Universe.MultiVersusalso features Tom and Jerry as a single character. In addition, theLooney Tunes’ Bugs Bunny and Taz are accompanied by theSpace Jam 2version of LeBron James. Meanwhile,MultiVersusalso boasts several popular DC characters, including Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Also present areGame of Throne’s Arya Stark and the Iron Giant from the film of the same name. Finally,MultiVersusfeatures one original character, Reindog.
Announcedupcoming characters include Rick and Morty, Black Adam, and Stripe from Gremlins. Meanwhile, earlier leaks revealed several possible characters, including but not limited to Scooby-Doo, Daenerys Targaryen, the Joker, Raven, Samurai Jack, and the Powerpuff Girls. WithMultiVersuscasting such a wide net, it is not hard to believe that characters fromThe Matrixcould make their way to the game sooner or later.
