A player making their way throughCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode has discovered an Easter egg paying homage to AMC’s hit showBreaking Badand its protagonists. The acclaimed crime drama has apparently found quite a following among game developers, withBreaking Badreferences inCyberpunk 2077being another example of games including sly nods to the show.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign continues the story from 2019’s smash hitCall of Duty: Modern Warfareand was launched in early access ahead of the game’s full release on October 28. Like its predecessor,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2’s campaign mode sees developer Infinity Ward attempting to create storylines that are ostensibly more grounded in the real world after recent entries in the franchise saw gamers traveling to the future and outer space among other exotic settings. The game’s campaign mode has been generally well-received by fans and critics, although some gamers have pointed out that players commit a shocking number ofcrimes inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode.

In a post shared on r/ModernWarfareII, Reddit user DHyperOnYT shared a screenshot fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode where Walter and Jessie’s iconic Winnebago can be seen parked alongside other vehicles. Fans ofBreaking Badtook the opportunity to post some of their favorite quotes from the show in reference to the picture, while others joked that Walter White in his underwear should be included as a multiplayer skin. This isn’t the first time gamers have spottedBreaking Bad’s Winnebago inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, either, as the RV has also been seen in the game’s Al Mazrah map.
Pop-culture references like this in video games are nothing new, but they can still delight gamers when they find them in their favorite games. Game developers aren’t the only ones who have shownBreaking Badsome love in recent releases either, fans have also been getting in on the action by modding the show’s characters into some of their favorite titles. One player recently shared a hilariousBreaking Badmod forMarvel’s Spider-Manthat allows players to swing through New York City as Jesse Pinkman, while countless other gamers have used in-game character creators to make digital doubles of the show’s protagonists.
While thisBreaking Badnod may not be as elaborate as some of the Easter eggs theCall of Dutyfranchise has become known for, it’s still a great callback forBreaking Badfans while they enjoy the game’s campaign mode.
