DespiteMarvel Snaponly having just entered Season 8, discussion is already heating up surrounding Season 9 as leaked information has begun to fuel fan speculation as to how the game will change in the coming months. The current Guardians Greatest Hits season ofMarvel Snaphas already seen some interesting new changes to the meta, as well as the potential for even more shake-ups in the coming weeks as more cards are released. However, some of the hype for these new cards is being overshadowed by the new details that have been rumored for next month’s season.

This season started out strong with theSeason Pass card Nebulaalready becoming a new staple for many ofMarvel Snap’s deck types. Additionally, new cards including Iron Lad, Howard the Duck, High Evolutionary, and The Living Tribunal are set to release over the course of the Guardians Greatest Hits season, but new datamined information reveals that next month’s season could include some meta-changing cards. While this information is unconfirmed by developer Second Dinner, datamining has proven to be reliable and pastMarvel Snapseasons have been uncovered this way.

Marvel Snap’s Next Season Has Been Leaked By Dataminers

According to the datamined information, the next season ofMarvel Snapwill feature cards themed aroundSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, likely to coincide with the film’s release. Among the new cards found within the datamine is Ghost-Spider, who appears to be the Season Pass card, along with otherSpider-Versecharacters like Spider-Ham, Spider-Man 2099, and Silk. The Season Pass for this upcoming season also appears to contain new variants for Spider-Man and Miles Morales in addition to one for Ghost-Spider.

Based on the information about these cards revealed in the datamine, it appears thatMarvel Snap’s movement deckarchetype could see a huge bump in usage as most of these new cards have abilities that synergize well with the archetype. Ghost-Spider is a 2-Cost/3-Power card with the On Reveal ability to move the last card played by the player to her location, functioning similarly to Iron Fist only retroactively. Spider-Man 2099 could also combo well with this card, as his ability destroys an enemy card the first time he moves, which is a solid ability for a 4-Cost/5-Power card.

Silk also seems like a strong candidate for movement decks, as a 2-Cost/5-Power card that moves locations anytime a card is played at the same location as her. This ability could, ironically, make her quite the strong compliment to Kraven the Hunter, who gains +2 Power whenever a card moves to his location. Spider-Ham doesn’t offer any synergies with movement decks, but could prove to be a greatcounter toMarvel Snap’s Galactusas his ability transforms the highest cost card in the opponent’s hand into a Pig, which removes its ability but keeps its power and cost. This card might create the perfect tactic for shutting down opponents who rely on the powerful abilities of their high-cost cards.

These cards seem to provide the basis for powerful combos with the already existingSpider-Man, who can control where an opponent can and can’t play cards, and Miles Morales, who gets his Cost reduced to 1 if a card moved the previous turn. Movement decks are currently somewhat underpowered inMarvel Snap, so this datamine should be exciting news for players who want to see more out of this archetype. Although official confirmation of this season won’t likely come until closer to the end of the month, it’s likely that players can expect to dive into theSpider-Versein June’s season.
