TheMCUhas added yet another star to its ranks with the addition of Devery Jacobs to the cast ofEcho. Jacobs has most recently appeared in the Disney+seriesReservation Dogsbut will now be joining the Marvel series in a yet unnamed role.
Echois one of the latest series that is going to be coming to Disney+ over the next few years. The series stars Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as a deaf Native American superhero who has the talent to imitate any fighting style she sees. The character was introduced as a villainduring the six-episode run ofHawkeye. However, she’s expected to leave a life of crime behind when the new show launches.

Deadlinereports that Jacobs has come on board theMCUshow though the details about who she is going to be playing are a bit sketchy. It’s said that theReservation Dogsstar is going to be playing one of the leads named Julie. The description for the character is said to be strong-willed and resilient.
Devery Jacobs is currently one of the leads on the Taika Waititi and Sterlin Harjo’s popular comedy series that appears on both Disney+ and FX. For her role as Elora Danan, the actress earned a 2021 Gotham Award nomination for Outstanding Performance in a New Series. Not only is she one of the big up-and-coming actresses on television this year but she’s also going to be adding some writing chops to her resume as she’ll be working on the scripts for the upcoming Season 2.
At the moment,Echohas not filled out its cast, though it looks like with thelikes of Alaqua Coxand Devery Jacobs the series has two of its main characters in place. Just how the two characters are going to interact is still a bit of a mystery. The show is still in the early days as far as production and development.
One thing that is known is that the show is going to be carrying some well-known Marvel series writers on its cast as its got scribes from bothDaredevilandPunisheron its payroll. If those shows are any sort of clue as to whatEchois going to offer it appears that this could be a darker entry into theMCUthan fans are used to seeing on Disney+. As of now, the show does not have an official release date.
